    Good except the unsolicited photography

The catamaran was great and very clean. The crew that conducted the tour were also great. However, we did not appreciate that there was a photographer on board without even asking us. Furthermore there was very high pressure to purchase the pictures (which were terrible) we finally rented with the promise of getting the digital downloads. We never received the downloads even after contacting the company several times. We had them take a group photo of us all but they would not release that photo to us we had to purchase the digital Package to get those photos! Very disappointing it really put should a negative feeling to what otherwise would have been an excellent day!

    Terrible Experience

They gave us a run down catamaran with an old tarp as a Bimini. It was dirty, no seating, no shade. The photo showed was a full size catamaran with a downstairs/indoor area, full bar, net, etc. we got picked up by our driver and he told us the location had changed last minute which seemed weird as no one had told us that (even though we were messaging with the platform the night before). We ended up having to pay $250 more to get a boat with indoor/shade to accommodate the elderly people in the group. We also started an hour and half late and we were unable to have our lunch with was supposed to be included because we wanted to have time to snorkel. Super unhappy about this, would like a response from someone ASAP.

Response from the operator: Hello John, We are truly sorry about the whole experience inconvenients and confussion about the expected boat, we have several boats and catamarans in our fleet, we are getting sure to be more clear on wich boat you are getting for each experience we promote. Our prestablished schedule allows to have all the experiences described, however once it is changed may occur what happened not having enought time for everything, this is something that preferly should be discussed prior getting off to sailing to control the time for each experience included in the tour. We are also very unhappy about our performance in this opportunity, we are making all the improvements needed to have better communication and clear information for all our guest since the booking experience. Thank you for your feedback to make us realize we need to be better. Kind regards

waiting on a refund-was not what we paid for

14 of us were placed on a catamaran, we didn't fit and didn't get the tour we paid for. no lunch, not enough life jackets for us all to even snorkel where they attempted to take us to at least try to do something for us. Guides spoke very little English but tried. We paid $1200 plus $15 per person to get to a reef we didn't go to. We were supposed to go to Isle Mujeras and the boat they put us one could not even get there. we basically rode on a small boat for 4 hours with about 30 min of a snorkeling. was overall a terrible experience. I have contacted Viator for some type of refund but have not heard back. We were dropped off at a different location than what our paper said but Viator set up our transportation --I am not sure where this all went wrong but someone needs to make it right. Be leary!

Response from the operator: Hello Jeni and Kenneth First of all we truly feel sorry this didn't go they way we all wanted to be, a memorable positive experience. The Catamaran is good to take up to 15 people on tour. We verified why you didn't go to lunch, that was very unusual to us since the beggining cause it is included in the price and is part of the tour pre stablished activities, Captain said that you told him it wasn't necessary due that your hotel was all inclusive and you got meals covered, so you prefered to sail and snorkel. According to the staff you did two different spots of snorkeling El Meco Reef Park and an additional spot known as "The Sunken Ship", not only 30 minutes as you said before. To do snorkeling activity takes about 40 minutes each spot, asuming they were shorter sessions of 30 minutes, that is at least 1 hour and a half with sailing between one spot to the other. We do apologize for the snorkel gear that apparently wasn't complete for 14 people (3 less), we already santioned the boat crew for this. The reason to drop you off in a different boarding pier, was presicely to make your ride shorter it was a 10 minutes difference, the boat moved here to board you closer from your hotel and at the end make it also a shorter way back for your rest of the evening at your resort. We feel truly sorry that this tour didn't filled your expectations, we will work on it to improve our service. We always want to make the best experience for our guests. Hope you enjoy your vacations. Regards

Private Catamaran Tour to Isla Mujeres with Snorkeling from Cancun: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cancun.

How much does Private Catamaran Tour to Isla Mujeres with Snorkeling from Cancun cost?

    +

Prices start at $1795 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cancun usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Catamaran Tour to Isla Mujeres with Snorkeling from Cancun take?

    +

Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cancun is not rushed.

Is Private Catamaran Tour to Isla Mujeres with Snorkeling from Cancun worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 36 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.1/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cancun, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Catamaran Tour to Isla Mujeres with Snorkeling from Cancun?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Catamaran Tour to Isla Mujeres with Snorkeling from Cancun suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Catamaran Tour to Isla Mujeres with Snorkeling from Cancun?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cancun can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cancun and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Catamaran Tour to Isla Mujeres with Snorkeling from Cancun start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cancun within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Cancun?

    +

On Outty we rank every Cancun experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Early Access to Chichen Itza All Inclusive with Valladolid and Cenote Swim, Whale Shark Tour from Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Tulum and Riviera Maya, Small-Group 3 Hidden Cenotes Adventure with Tequila Tasting. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Cancun?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Cancun?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
