Unspoiled and uninhabited Catalina Island is the star of this tour. You’ll have a few hours to enjoy its palm-fringed sandy beach, which stretches out for 2km along the west coast, and savour a buffet grill with drinks. But the fun begins before you even land on the islet – there’s a snorkelling stop en route at La Pared reef – a garden of coral, sponges and exotic fish.

Tour Was Cancelled And We Weren't Informed - Still No Refund
We reserved the Jarabacoa White Water Rafting from Puerto Plata tour 2 weeks in advance. We also followed the confirmation steps per the voucher we received when we reserved the tour.On the morning of the tour, we arrived in the hotel lobby about 10 minutes before our pickup time of 7AM.At 7:10 the local tour operator van had not arrived. We called the local tour operator and he confirmed our booking reference and asked that we call back in 10-15 minutes for an update if the van had not arrived. The van did not arrive so we called back.At that time we were informed that the tour had been cancelled because there were not enough tour participants. The local tour operator (Blue Travel) said that they had tried to contact us the day before the tour to inform us of the cancellation. However, we had no missed calls, voice mails, or emails from them. They then asked us if we wanted to reschedule for the next day.We said no because we had other plans. It was frustrating because we had built our mini-vacation around the rafting (and it was my wife's birthday). So we called Viator and since then we've called a number of times to get our full refund. The Viator customer service has been very nice, but at 8 days after the tour date we have not received our refund. The other thing that angered us is that when we talked to the local tour operator he said

Beurk
Ordinary experience with this tour and for several reasons: 1- I call this company to place order, they want to charge me more than Trip Advisor. Finally I place an order with Duvato Tours, cheaper than all. 2- the bus in the morning arrives late and is justified by the representative who gave the wrong schedule. 3- Long journey in the morning (3h) and arrived on site we had waited hours before having the life jackets and helmets 4- the rafting guide (Karlito) is nice but the descent itself is ordinary, no feelings no nothing 5- arrived on site after the experiment, ordinary meal and more fork, you had to eat by hand 6- photos again ordinary 7- In the coach back, the driver takes forks and secondary roads to save the pay.
Response from the operator: Cher client, Il est regrettable que les services n'aient pas été en mesure de répondre à vos attentes. Private Catamaran to Catalina Island With Lunch & Snorkeling: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Punta Cana.
How much does Private Catamaran to Catalina Island With Lunch & Snorkeling cost?
+
Prices start at $1,800 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Punta Cana usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Catamaran to Catalina Island With Lunch & Snorkeling take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Punta Cana is not rushed.
Is Private Catamaran to Catalina Island With Lunch & Snorkeling worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 41 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.7/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Punta Cana, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Catamaran to Catalina Island With Lunch & Snorkeling?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Catamaran to Catalina Island With Lunch & Snorkeling suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Catamaran to Catalina Island With Lunch & Snorkeling?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Punta Cana can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Punta Cana and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Catamaran to Catalina Island With Lunch & Snorkeling start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Punta Cana within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Punta Cana?
+
On Outty we rank every Punta Cana experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Punta Cana Zipline - 8 lines and a suspenseful hanging bridge, Buggy Excursion to Macau Beach and Natural Cave, Small Group Buggy Tour to Water Cave and Macao Beach. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Punta Cana?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Punta Cana?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
What is included in Private Catamaran to Catalina Island With Lunch & Snorkeling?
+
Included: Buffet; Snorkeling equipment; Roundtrip transportation is available from most centrally located Punta Cana Hotels; Guide; and Sunlounger. Not included: Anything that is not mentioned in inclusions; and Gratuities are left at individual discretion. Always check the voucher for the final list before you travel.
Does Private Catamaran to Catalina Island With Lunch & Snorkeling include hotel pickup?
+
Yes, pickup is offered for every traveler from 10 listed pickup locations in and around Punta Cana. You can also enter a custom pickup address when booking.
What languages is Private Catamaran to Catalina Island With Lunch & Snorkeling offered in?
+
It runs in English. Pick your language when choosing a date and time, as not every departure runs in every language.
Will I get instant confirmation and a mobile ticket for Private Catamaran to Catalina Island With Lunch & Snorkeling?
+
Confirmation is sent by the operator after booking, usually within 48 hours; if it is not confirmed you are not charged. Bring a printed voucher, as paper tickets are required.
Is Private Catamaran to Catalina Island With Lunch & Snorkeling wheelchair or stroller accessible?
+
The operator notes: Not recommended for pregnant travelers. If accessibility is critical, contact the operator after booking to confirm arrangements for your date.
What happens to Private Catamaran to Catalina Island With Lunch & Snorkeling if the weather is bad?
+
It generally runs rain or shine, so dress for the forecast in Punta Cana. Standard cancellation terms apply: free cancellation up to 24 hours before the start.
