A wonderful 3 hours with family on the water at Waikiki

A great day on the water with Tom, Savannah and Bella celebrating Alicia’s 70th birthday with our children and grandchildren. Swimming off the catamaran with dolphins and turtles. We also saw a seal in the harbour before sailing. A great birthday present and memories. Highly recommend the professional expertise of the crew.

A perfect private catamaran sunset tour

I booked the private catamaran sunset tour for my family and I and we were not disappointed. It was a fantastic tour. The waters were a bit choppy that day, but we all laughed when a couple of the waves got some of us a bit wet!! All fun!! The trip back was so spectacular…..even though it was too overcast for a proper sunset, the suns rays poked through the clouds and made up for it (and the warm blanket for the ride back was the ‘icing on the cake’). Our ‘captain’ and ‘crew member’ were so friendly it made the trip very enjoyable. Thank you so much!!!

Response from the operator: Aloha Debby, Mahalo so much for choosing to spend your sunset sail with us and for sharing such a fun recap of your time onboard! A little splash now and then definitely adds to the memories. Even on overcast evenings, Hawai'i has a way of surprising us, and we’re so happy those sun rays (and a cozy blanket) made the trip back extra special. Thank you for your kind words about our captain and crew. It truly means a lot to us. We’d love to welcome you back onboard again someday. Best experience of our trip!

Our family of 10 booked the 4 hour private catamaran charter, and this was the best experience of our whole trip! The crew goes above and beyond to make sure you have a great time onboard. We went snorkeling, and all the snorkeling gear was included. After this, the captain took us sailing, and it was amazing to take in the island views from the ocean and to relax in the catamaran nets with the beanbags. After sailing, we went to a swimming spot where we could jump off the boat and swim around. Captain Tom and First Mate Savannah are personable and are extremely experienced out on the water. We can’t say enough good things. We will definitely be booking again our next visit to Hawaii! We wish we had found them on our previous visits to Hawaii. Our whole family highly recommends. We will be back!

Response from the operator: Aloha, Mahalo nui loa for such an incredibly kind and thoughtful review! We’re truly honored that your 4-hour private charter was the highlight of your trip. That means everything to our small local crew. It sounds like you got the full Hawaiian Style experience, from snorkeling and sailing to relaxing on the nets and jumping in for a swim. We’re so glad Captain Tom and First Mate Savannah could help make it such a fun and memorable day for your whole family. Thank you for the heartfelt recommendation and for trusting us with your time on the water. We can’t wait to welcome your ʻohana back onboard again on your next visit to Hawaiʻi. My family and I had a wonderful time on the catamaran, which was crewed by Capt Tom and and Savannah. The sunset was beautiful and the crew was very attentive and a lot of fun to be around. Our party was on the small side (4 people), but there would have been plenty of room for larger groups. The weather wasn't exactly perfect, but we made the most of it and had the experience of a lifetime.

Response from the operator: Mahalo for the kind words! We’re so glad you and your family had a great time onboard. It’s all about making the most of it, and your group did just that. It was a pleasure having you onboard for such a special sunset sail. We hope to sail with you all again in the future. Mahalo nui loa, Sail Hawaiian Style Catamaran 'ohana

Private Catamaran Sunset Sail in Waikiki: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Oahu.

How much does Private Catamaran Sunset Sail in Waikiki cost?

    +

Prices start at $900 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Oahu usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Catamaran Sunset Sail in Waikiki take?

    +

Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Oahu is not rushed.

Is Private Catamaran Sunset Sail in Waikiki worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 56 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 11 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Oahu, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Catamaran Sunset Sail in Waikiki?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Catamaran Sunset Sail in Waikiki suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Catamaran Sunset Sail in Waikiki?

    +

Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Oahu can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Oahu and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Catamaran Sunset Sail in Waikiki start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Oahu within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Oahu?

    +

On Outty we rank every Oahu experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Oahu: Full or Half Day Grand Circle Island Tour, Oahu Small-Group Circle Island Tour with Turtle Snorkeling, Pearl Harbor Remembered Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Oahu?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Oahu?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
