Later on, we’ll move to Oia, deservedly Santorini’s most popular village due to its breathtaking setting at the edge of the steep cliff and its distinctive characteristics. Castelli of Pyrgos
Continuing our tour, you’ll head to Pyrgos, an inland village that once was Santorini’s capital. Enjoy an amazing stroll around its pastel-coloured houses, blue-domed churches, and vineyards, while through its maze of laneways, you’ll walk all the way up to the top of the village with its medieval castle and the dazzling views over the island. Afterwards, going downhill to the village, you’ll stop at a shadded spot to relax your muscles and enjoy a platter of mouthwatering mezedes with local seasonal tastes such as tomato fritters, fava, white eggplant, Apochti (cold cut), and Chlorotyri (local cheese).

Incredible Local Experience!
We had the most wonderful private tour of Santorini with local Sofia. Our family absolutely loved having Sofia show us the highlights of her island. We saw so much we wouldn’t have seen without her, and she took lots of photos of us for our memories: we learned a ton, had some laughs, and even had the most wonderful lunch at Faros. We tried Santorini delicacies prepared by the most wonderful family, who welcomed us with open arms. Don’t miss Sofia’s tour!!

Incredible food and drink tour
Kostis was an incredible guide. This was our favorite tour. We walked along the caldera trail, sampled food and drinks from restaurants along the way with breathtaking views. Our guide was very knowledgeable and shared information in a way that was interesting to all of us. It was the perfect way to celebrate our 25th anniversary and son’s 19 th birthday. Truly a memorable experience.

No stone unturned!
During the beautiful weather of May, we enjoyed both a small group sunset walking tour with tastings and drinks and a private half-day tour of Santorini with our guide, Apostolos. We went on the small group tour on our first evening and it was a great introduction to the island. Be ready to walk and bring a camera or a smartphone because you will see some fantastic views. We also enjoyed getting to know the other members of our group from other parts of the world. The drinks and food choices were representatives of Greece and our guide was able to weave history, culture, and political intrigue into our tour. That tour covers Imerovergli, Firostehpani, and Fira. The private half-day tour the next day included numerous spots and shopping in Oia, Pyrgos, and Aktorini (with a guided tour with an archeologist) and we finished with a wine tasting. Apostolos is personable and knowledgeable and we felt like we were visiting the island with a friend. We highly recommend him and both of these tours.
