Our guide, Delano, was excellent!! Such a nice guy with great stories and history about our tour to lake Louise and lake moraine! Great personality! He bought a box of cookie treats for us that we aren't able to get in the U.S. We were so happy to have him as our tour guide!

Banff history of the park and the surrounding areas

We had the very best two days with Duncan! We traveled from Lake Louise and visited countless lakes, glaciers, hiked all over; we cannot say enough! He showed us how to identify the difference between furs, pines and sources; the differences in the types of junipers, as well as buffalo berries that the grizzlies love. He was well versed in ecology, geology, botany, history and glaciers. Duncan is very personable, attentive to everyone’s needs, and was well received by the group. We would take another trip with Alberta Blue Sky tours if Duncan was our guide!

Response from the operator: Thanks for sharing such a detailed review! Duncan’s deep knowledge of Banff’s ecology, geology, and history really shines through, and it’s great to hear how he made the tour both educational and enjoyable for your group. We’re glad you had such a memorable experience and would love to welcome you back anytime, especially with Duncan as your guide!

    +

    +

What should I bring or wear?

How many days do you need in Calgary?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
