Cairo city tour
The tour states private tour, but it's not. There was no tour guide, despite the fact that I specifically requested & checked that a tour guide would be with me & the tour company confirmed "yes". They mislead me, & I was on my own. However I did have a driver, Ali, who was absolutely AMAZING. He kept me safe & ensured my safety. So if you want a driver for the day, book Ali.
Response from the operator: Dear surjit Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback about your Cairo city tour. We genuinely appreciate all reviews, as they help us improve. First, we are delighted to hear that your driver, Ali, provided an amazing experience and ensured your safety throughout the day. We are very proud of our team and will make sure he receives your kind compliments. However, we sincerely regret the clear misunderstanding regarding the tour guide. We have reviewed your booking confirmation, and it shows you selected the "Car Only" option, which, as described, includes a private vehicle and driver for transportation, but not a licensed tour guide. The other options, "Car & Guide" or "All-Inclusive," explicitly include that service. We take your point about communication very seriously. We are investigating our correspondence to ensure our service descriptions are always crystal clear and will reinforce this with our team to prevent any fut v confusion. We apologize profoundly if any prior message led you to believe otherwise; that was certainly not our intention. We are truly sorry that your experience did not match your expectations due to this mix-up. We would welcome the opportunity to restore your faith in our company. Please feel free to contact our management directly at [Email Address or Phone Number] so we can discuss this further. Thank you again for your feedback and for highlighting Ali's excellent service. Best regards, The Upper Sky Tours Team

Overall not so bad
Tour started with bad experience as they didn’t contact to us until last minute and we were one who reached them. Our tour guide Rasha was great and knowledgeable and our driver was nice. Quick way to get to know around Cairo.

Great Guide and Great Tour but Shorter than Expected
I used this tour the second day I was here and Zaresha (so sorry if I butchered her name) was a great guide who I felt like I could have a laugh with and answered many questions I had about the various sites visited. I had a great time visiting the Citadel and Coptic Cairo, and really enjoyed making my wish at one of the Churches. I felt really comfortable throughout the whole time there and she was happy to take as many photos as I liked and allowed to spend some time taking my own photos as well. Things I noted were: 1) that the tour was shorter than I expected. It didn’t not actually take me to Islamic Cairo (granted that’s nearly what was listed on the itinerary despite the heading stating otherwise) and we didn’t do the Museum either - but I planned to go here on my own anyway so it wasn’t too bad. My tour only lasted for about 2 and a half hours - though it felt much longer in the best way. I did have the option of going to the Civilisation museum which I declined. 2) it started late. This was more due to the owner of the company being hard to contact - but also me changing my pickup location last minute, which they did accommodate. 3) I was taken to a Papyrus shop. However, I did not feel pressured to buy anything at all, and I got to drink tea. Overall, I think having Zaresha as my guide made my tour feel a lot more worth it versus it being someone with less charisma. It’s worth it if you want to get your bearings around the big areas of Cairo without worrying about getting Maps up or taking metro/Ubers constantly. But you could probably get around these areas on your own if you have thick enough skin - especially if you’re not travelling solo.

Private Cairo City Tour: Egyptian Museum, Citadel & Old Cairo: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cairo.
How much does Private Cairo City Tour: Egyptian Museum, Citadel & Old Cairo cost?
+
Prices start at $16 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cairo usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Cairo City Tour: Egyptian Museum, Citadel & Old Cairo take?
+
Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cairo is not rushed.
Is Private Cairo City Tour: Egyptian Museum, Citadel & Old Cairo worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 68 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 16 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cairo, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Cairo City Tour: Egyptian Museum, Citadel & Old Cairo?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Cairo City Tour: Egyptian Museum, Citadel & Old Cairo suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Cairo City Tour: Egyptian Museum, Citadel & Old Cairo?
+
Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cairo can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cairo and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Cairo City Tour: Egyptian Museum, Citadel & Old Cairo start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cairo within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Cairo?
+
On Outty we rank every Cairo experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include All-in-One Giza Tour, inside Pyramid, sphinx, Camel ride & lunch, VIP Private Giza Pyramids, Sphinx Tour –Inside the Pyramids&More, Best of Cairo Private Giza Pyramids, Sphinx and Grand Museum Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Cairo?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Cairo?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
