Hussled by Melike (Mel)
Tour of Bodrum with Melike (Mel). She took us to Bodrum Castle and shared all the interesting facts. She was very kind and knowledgeable. She took us to see the windmills and snap a few pictures. She told us of how her grandmother was a silk weaver and how it’s a dying art. She shared with us the information about the government program to keep the art alive and suggested we go to where the women are learning the trade. I was under the impression it would be an art studio type of setting. WRONG it was a rug store where I later learned she coordinated our arrival with the owner before we got there. He kept pulling out rug after rug. I gently asked to leave only to be persuaded to look at their jewelry as well. I felt that this was a set up and that we were conned. Clearly she gets a kick back for all the sales she brings in under the douse of wanting to share a dying art because she said her grandmother was a weaver. If you take a tour with Mel, decline the offer to watch how the women are learning to weave unless you want to spend thousands on a rug.
Response from the operator: We were truly saddened to read your message because it doesn’t reflect what happened during the tour from our perspective. We visited every location included in the itinerary, including the theater. Nothing on the scheduled program was skipped. Regarding the carpet weaving center, we called ahead because reservations are required. It is not possible to visit without booking in advance, which is why I had to inform them that we were coming. This is standard procedure. we also want to clarify that I do not receive any commission from the carpet center or any other stop. We have never received commission for bringing guests there. The moment you said “no,” we left. We did not stay any longer than you wished. Also, we did not stop at the jewelry store at all. During the entire tour, you never told us that you were uncomfortable or unhappy with any part of the experience. If you had shared your concerns with us, We would have done everything I could to make things right immediately.

Why this scores 73
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private Bodrum City Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Bodrum.
How much does Private Bodrum City Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $49 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Bodrum usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Bodrum City Tour take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Bodrum is not rushed.
Is Private Bodrum City Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 73 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 19 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Bodrum, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Bodrum City Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Bodrum City Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Bodrum City Tour?
+
Around 7 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Bodrum can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Bodrum and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Bodrum City Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Bodrum within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Bodrum?
+
On Outty we rank every Bodrum experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Boat Trip to the Turkish Maldives- Orak Island, Private Bodrum City Tour for Cruisers, Bodrum Orak Island (Turkish Maldives) Boat Trip. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Bodrum?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Bodrum?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
