What you'll see and do
Stingray City
The 1st stop is the most infamous Stingray City, which is a must for anyone visiting Grand Cayman and it is the ideal interaction for all ages. Stingray City is a wide sandbar surrounded by barrier reefs that's home to a variety of fish and, most notably, stingrays. The fact that the southern stingrays that inhabit the area are exceedingly friendly makes Stingray City the most popular activity on the island. These massive sea creatures, an iconic symbol of the Cayman Islands culture are so accustomed to human interaction that they allow people to feed, play with, pet, and photograph them. Whilst at Stingray City, I, will take my time to explain more about the stingrays and why they are there. As legends goes, 'kissing a stingray" will give you the customer, seven years of good luck. It's a Caribbean adventure unlike any other! The Sandbar is about 3 feet deep during low tide and about 4.5 feet deep during high tide. This segment is about 1 to 1.5 - 2 hours

Great trip!
Captain Dave was a hoot. Gave us lots of history of the area, and his family stories were interesting. He was very professional and attentive. He even dove for Conch and fed us marinated Conch fruit and cheese. We had a wonderful time.
Response from the operator: Thank you for the lovely review! We’re so glad you had a wonderful time exploring Stingray City and snorkeling with Captain David. He’ll be happy to hear you enjoyed his stories, local history, and fresh conch treat. We hope to welcome you back to Grand Cayman!

Looking Out for You
Trustworthy team who looks out for your best interests. There was a small craft advisory the day of our tour, and instead of simply going out and getting paid, they advised us of the situation and recommended we don’t go out. While we were extremely disappointed, they earned our respect and praise. The next time we visit, they will be the first ones we call!!!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for the acknowledgement. Please please do try and contact us when you are next visiting the Cayman Islands. Hopefully, the weather will be so much better.

An excellent day with Captain David
Our group of 7 (4 adults, 3 kids) had a amazing day in the water with David. We've been on organized tours before but this was so much better. David treated us all like friends and the kids really special. He was having just as much fun as we were. He gave us lots of history about the island, helped us interact with stingrays, took us to a great snorkel spot, prepared fresh local food and drink. The water was rough that day and we saw other groups coming and going and we weathered it and he kept us safe. If you're a group, skip the organized tours where you're just a number and get the personal touch with David.
Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing such a thoughtful review! We’re delighted your group had a memorable day with David. He’ll be glad to hear the kids felt special and that you enjoyed the island history, stingrays, snorkeling, and fresh local food and drinks. Your kind words about his care and attention mean a lot, especially on a rough-water day. We hope to see you all again in Grand Cayman!

Excellent Private Boat Tour
Our group had a Blast on Captain David's Boat Tour of the Cayman Islands! He surpassed our expectations and was a wonderful host & guide around Stingray City and snorkeling at the coral reef! The highlight was when he dove in the ocean for fresh conch that he turned into the most delicious salad! Plus the photos he took of us with the Stingrays were truly memorable! Truly the highlight of our trip!
Response from the operator: Wendy On behalf of Captain David, 'thank you for your kind words'. I am so glad you enjoyed yourself and it was a pleasure taking you and your family out. Please come again and let's keep in touch. Blessings.

Best day of our trip!
This was our second visit to swim with Stingrays and our experience with Captain David was unforgettable! Our first was on a cruise excursion that was crowded and rushed. Not with Captain David, he takes his time and showed us his love and knowledge of the island and ocean. After visiting the stingrays he included my son in divng for conch, a turtle swam right up to them and we will all remember that moment forever. Snorkeling again was not rushed and really enjoyed taking our time. It was my daughters first ocean Snorkeling and she was extremely nervous but Captain David was patient and encouraged her, soon she was swimming on her own. The snacks and home made drinks were very tasty as well! We highly recommend this tour, all 10 of us said this was the highlight of our trip.
Response from the operator: On behalf of Captain Thank you so much and blessed. Diving for the conchs with Mason and having a turtle swim up to us was a special experience that I too will not forget. Blessed and hope to see you again. Also, right on Charlotte

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Grand Cayman.
How much does Private Boat Tour: Stingray City & Snorkeling (Popular) cost?

How long does Private Boat Tour: Stingray City & Snorkeling (Popular) take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Grand Cayman is not rushed.
Is Private Boat Tour: Stingray City & Snorkeling (Popular) worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 57 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Grand Cayman, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Boat Tour: Stingray City & Snorkeling (Popular)?
+

How far in advance should I book Private Boat Tour: Stingray City & Snorkeling (Popular)?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Grand Cayman can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?

What are the best things to do in Grand Cayman?
+

The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Grand Cayman?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Grand Cayman?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
