No Carragas Islands and no option to reschedule
We booked this trip because there was a two hour stop at Carragas Islands advertised with snorkelling and diving. The weather didn’t allow this but we were not offered an option to reschedule and informed halfway through the trip that we would not be going there. The guide and crew were amazing but this was not the experience we paid for, and there was no gear on board for snorkelling, and not much to do.
Response from the operator: Hello, As stated in the tour description, this experience offers two alternative destinations, the Cagarras Islands or the beaches of Niterói. The trip visits one or the other, rather than both. Reaching Cagarras requires leaving Guanabara Bay and crossing open water. On this occasion, although the weather was sunny, strong winds made that crossing unsafe. Sunshine does not necessarily mean calm seas, and we will not put our guests or crew at risk. The boat therefore followed the alternative route toward Niterói, staying in sheltered waters, with swimming stops, beautiful views of Rio, barbecue, plenty of food, drinks, caipirinhas, and music. Hotel transportation, a bilingual guide, the captain, and the crew were all provided. We also accommodated the requested chicken meal, assigned an additional person to prepare caipirinhas, and provided a larger boat than the option booked, at no extra charge. For future guests, the destination depends on safe navigation conditions. Cagarras cannot be guaranteed, even on a beautiful, sunny day. Both routes offer wonderful scenery, and when the sea is rough offshore, Niterói offers a calmer setting to swim, relax, and enjoy a barbecue on board while admiring the surroundings.

Great boat trip around the Rio bay area!
Had a great tour with Roma around 2 different swimming spots around the Rio Bay Area. Also got to see the beautiful sights of Rio from the water. The staff were very kind and accommodating, always asking if we wanted more food and drinks. Special thanks to Rico who went above and beyond to make great caipirinhas and BBQ through the whole trip! I would definitely do this again and highly recommend!

Relaxing trip around the Rio Bay
Sergio and his team were very welcoming and started the trip with information and history of the areas we would visit. The boat and facilities were clean and working without issues. We had plenty of opportunities to take pictures and record video between all the Rio bay landmarks. The snacks, grilled meats, and drinks provided were delicious and on par with a sit-down establishment. We would definitely book a trip with Sergio when we come back!
Response from the operator: 🙌 Thank you so much for your kind words! We're thrilled to hear you enjoyed the trip, the information, and the amenities on the boat. 🚤📸 Sergio and the team always strive to provide the best experience possible. We can't wait to welcome you back for another adventure! Cheers! 🥂🍖

Private Boat Tour In Rio – Tour With Barbecue and Drinks: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Rio de Janeiro.
How much does Private Boat Tour In Rio – Tour With Barbecue and Drinks cost?
+
Prices start at $2,205 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Rio de Janeiro usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Boat Tour In Rio – Tour With Barbecue and Drinks take?
+
Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Rio de Janeiro is not rushed.
Is Private Boat Tour In Rio – Tour With Barbecue and Drinks worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 52 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 24 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Rio de Janeiro, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Boat Tour In Rio – Tour With Barbecue and Drinks?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is Private Boat Tour In Rio – Tour With Barbecue and Drinks suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Boat Tour In Rio – Tour With Barbecue and Drinks?
+
Around 8 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Rio de Janeiro can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Rio de Janeiro and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Boat Tour In Rio – Tour With Barbecue and Drinks start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Rio de Janeiro within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Rio de Janeiro?
+
On Outty we rank every Rio de Janeiro experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Pedra da Gávea hike, your best experience in Rio, Favela Tour Rio de Janeiro - Vidigal Walking Tour by Russo Guide, Rio's Full Day: Selarón Steps, Christ & Sugarloaf – Tickets & Lunch Included. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Rio de Janeiro?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Rio de Janeiro?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
