What you get
About this experience
Our private Limon Beach and Lagoon Tour takes you way off the beaten path to a virgin beach and coastal lagoon in one of the most unspoiled areas in the Dominican Republic. Limon Lagoon is a diamond in the rough located near the mountains of the northeastern Dominican Republic, one of the most beautiful areas of the country, and near the town of Miches, an area which very few tourists visit. The beach here is postcard like and is fortunately never covered in seaweed, like other beaches in the region can be in the summer months. A lush area scarcely populated mainly by fishermen and farmers, the area of Miches is home to some of the most beautiful landscapes in the country. This unforgettable tour is led by our experienced, fluent English speaking nature guides, and takes you to places most tourists never get to see.

Great Nature Experience with Knowledgeable Guide
We did the private boat tour of Saona Island, with travel arranged from a resort in Punta Cana. We had an amazing experience with our guide Kiko, who was extremely knowledgeable about ocean life as well as local culture. He was very kind and generous with his wisdom. We saw sea turtles, starfish, and eagle rays. This tour was a great way to get a sense of local life in Man Juan (a fishing village) and experience the ocean outside of a resort experience. We also enjoyed the quiet, beautiful beach that was part of the tour. Highly recommend this tour as a way to experience the Dominican and Saona Island that is more eco-focused and outside of the party boats and beach scene!

Awesome! Tour National Park of the East and Caves
We spent a wonderful day with Manny at the National Park of the East. The communication was very good and fast, so we had all the important information within a very short time and also during the tour we were always informed about the next steps. We were picked up by a driver at the hotel and were very kindly welcomed by Manny at the entrance to the National Park. We went for a relaxing walk to a lonely beach. On the way Manny told us a lot about the flora and fauna of the national park, the Tainos, the Dominican culture and generally about the Dominican Republic. We were able to enjoy the clear water at the beach and then went to another place in the national park. From there we hiked to the caves. We saw turtles, different birds, lots of butterflies and cave paintings. It was a great experience swimming alone in the cave. Afterwards we went to a local restaurant and had a very good meal. Then, unfortunately, it was time to go home. If you have more time, we recommend a longer tour. Due to our limited budget, we thought twice about spending money on the tour and are happy to say that it was absolutely the right decision. It was the best tour of our vacation, we learned a lot and we are sure that Manny will bring the nature and culture of his homeland so wonderfully close to many other interested people.

Stunning Nature Excursion
We (a couple) visited Punta Cana in November 2020 and did this amazing private boat tour to Saona Island. The tour was absolutely stunning and beautiful, and included snorkeling, secluded beach visits, lunch, and a turtle sanctuary visit. It was rustic and natural and a perfect experience. Manny (owner/guide) was very friendly, professional, and incredibly informative throughout the tour. He's also completely bilingual in English/Spanish (and perhaps other languages as well). Our small boat captain was also excellent, and safely and professionally navigated the waters. We definitely recommend this tour and this company. If we make it back one day we will also definitely book with Explora Ecotour again for other tours! Thanks for the wonderful excursion! - Katie & Fernando

Why this scores 46
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private Boat Nature Tour of Limón Beach and Lagoon: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Punta Cana.
How much does Private Boat Nature Tour of Limón Beach and Lagoon cost?
+
Prices start at $160 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Punta Cana usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Boat Nature Tour of Limón Beach and Lagoon take?
+
Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Punta Cana is not rushed.
Is Private Boat Nature Tour of Limón Beach and Lagoon worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 46 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 3 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable outdoors in Punta Cana, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Boat Nature Tour of Limón Beach and Lagoon?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is Private Boat Nature Tour of Limón Beach and Lagoon suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Boat Nature Tour of Limón Beach and Lagoon?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Punta Cana can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Punta Cana and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Boat Nature Tour of Limón Beach and Lagoon start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Punta Cana within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Punta Cana?
+
On Outty we rank every Punta Cana experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Punta Cana Zipline - 8 lines and a suspenseful hanging bridge, Punta Cana Buggy or ATV Tour with Macao Beach, Cave and Tastings, Buggy Excursion to Macau Beach and Natural Cave. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Punta Cana?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Punta Cana?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
