    Thank you Jaime!

This was the best thing to do on our first day in Cartagena. Jaime introduced us to the culture of the country while helping us to learn the local areas to explore. He also gave us some local tips and took us to some places we may not have known about like the shopping center that used to be a bull fighting ring. Would highly recommend.

    Cycling in Cartagena

The staff and our guide Boris were fantastic however the bikes were terrible. Old, rusty, kick stand didn’t work and the brakes went out in one bike and the barring were loose. It was a pretty flat ride so we worked through it but this was a dangerous route riding along buses, cars and motorcycles on chaotic streets. We felt safe in the walled part of the city, but outside on the streets you can get pinched between cars parked and those flying by 8” from you. For that reason, I would not recommend this route

    Loved the private bike tour!

On this bike tour, having a private guide was terrific. Jenny met right on time, and we picked up our bikes and we rode on just about every street of the old town inside the walls and also then toured around Getsemani. We covered so much ground and would not have been able to do a fraction of that on foot! She would periodically stop and give us important details about this historic place. While riding, she had a microphone so we could hear her as we were on our way. We thoroughly enjoyed it! Jenny was a great tour guide.

The Best Thing We Did in Cartagena

We had no idea what to expect when we booked this bike tour, but if I had to sum up what we got in one word it would be WOW. Yeni showed us the most welcoming, vibrant, unique and unforgettable side of Cartagena. We'd actually been in town a few days when we booked the tour and we had been a little overwhelmed at the city on foot (the noise, the crowds, the heat....), but getting on a bike with a clearly well-loved local made all the difference in the world. Because of Yeni and this tour, we fell in love with Cartagena. She is an excellent guide, a warm human, a good friend to many of the people we passed, and a great storyteller. I can't recommend this tour enough, even if there isn't much description on this Viator page. (Maybe that will change -- at the time we booked, there were few reviews, no photos, and little to go by. I'm so glad we took a chance and showed up. It was the highlight of our visit.)

private bike tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cartagena.

How much does private bike tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $120 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cartagena usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does private bike tour take?

    +

Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cartagena is not rushed.

Is private bike tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 39 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.5/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Cartagena, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule private bike tour?

    +

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is private bike tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book private bike tour?

    +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cartagena can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cartagena and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does private bike tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cartagena within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Cartagena?

    +

On Outty we rank every Cartagena experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Historic Center & Getsemaní Shared Tour in Cartagena, Cartagena VIP Boat Tour: Rosario Islands & Snorkel, Cartagena Cooking Class with Local Chef (Small Group Experience). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Cartagena?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Cartagena?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
