Dean was the ideal guide. He answered all of our questions and was very patient with our family. He spoke great English and we felt very comfortable on the tour. Our driver was a doll, always smiling and a wonderful companion. The private car was very helpful. I recommend the toboggan from the wall!

Response from the operator: Thank you for your lovely review, Chelsea! We're so happy to hear that Dean was the ideal guide for your family. His patience, knowledge, and excellent English are exactly what we aim to provide for every guest. We're glad your driver also made the experience comfortable and enjoyable. And yes, the toboggan ride down the Great Wall is always a highlight — great recommendation! Thank you for choosing us and we hope to see your family again on another Beijing adventure!

During my two weeks trip in China...

During my two weeks trip in China this tour was definitely the most inspiring. Our guide, Dean, was the most enthusiastic guide I have ever had. Passioned about his work, Beijing, the Great Wall, he offered us a wonderful day and tour. Plus, I contacted him on the same evening to help us find a good bar in Beijing, he answered immediately and even came to meet us and helped us find a taxi at the end of the evening!
So A for the guide.

About the tour itself it was a pleasure climbing the Great Wall under the sun. Advise: prepare a lot of water! Going on an adventure in the wild part of the wall was a ton of fun but remains quit of a challenge if you're not a sport person.

The Olympic sites were interesting to see but added no big thing to the tour.

At the end of the day, a must do if you happen to visit Beijing. Once again: I highly recommend Dean as a Tour Guide!

Response from the operator: Thank you for such a fantastic review, Hykel! We're thrilled to hear that this tour was the highlight of your two-week China trip. Dean truly is a passionate and dedicated guide, and it's wonderful to know he went above and beyond — even helping you find a great bar and taxi after the tour. Your advice about bringing plenty of water for the Great Wall climb is spot on, and the wild section is indeed an unforgettable adventure! We really appreciate your enthusiastic recommendation of Dean and our tour. We hope to welcome you back to Beijing someday!

Our tour was fantastic! Kris was extremely knowledgeable of both the subject of the tour wall/Olympic sites/etc, but educated our group on the culture of China! We were impressed with both her storytelling style and personal accessibility. She was very easy to talk to and engaged us throughout the day.

The tour itself was leisurely, enjoyable and highly recommended!!! Thanks so much!

Why this scores 69
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private Beijing Day Tour: Mutianyu Great Wall & Olympic Park: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Beijing.
How much does Private Beijing Day Tour: Mutianyu Great Wall & Olympic Park cost?
+
Prices start at $65 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Beijing usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Beijing Day Tour: Mutianyu Great Wall & Olympic Park take?
+
Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Beijing is not rushed.
Is Private Beijing Day Tour: Mutianyu Great Wall & Olympic Park worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 69 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 10 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Beijing, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Beijing Day Tour: Mutianyu Great Wall & Olympic Park?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Beijing Day Tour: Mutianyu Great Wall & Olympic Park suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Beijing Day Tour: Mutianyu Great Wall & Olympic Park?
+
Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Beijing can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Beijing and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Beijing Day Tour: Mutianyu Great Wall & Olympic Park start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Beijing within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Beijing?
+
On Outty we rank every Beijing experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Mubus: Mutianyu Great Wall Bus Tour with Summer Palace Options, Beijing: Top 6 Highlights All Inclusive 2-Day Private Tour, Private Mutianyu Great Wall Trip With English-Speaking Driver. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Beijing?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Beijing?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
