Amazing family, passionate cook, and pride in culture.

We had an absolutely unforgettable experience and cannot recommend this family enough. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed not as tourists, but as guests in their home. Their warmth, kindness, and genuine hospitality immediately made us feel comfortable and connected to the experience. What made this so special was the authenticity. This was not simply a cooking class. It was an opportunity to learn about family traditions, local culture, regional ingredients, and the passion behind every dish. Every step of the process was explained with care, patience, and enthusiasm, allowing us to truly understand not only how to prepare the food, but why these recipes matter. The food was exceptional. Every dish reflected generations of knowledge, incredible ingredients, and a deep respect for tradition. Some of the best meals of our entire trip came from this experience, and being able to participate in creating them made it even more meaningful. As passionate home cooks, we especially appreciated the level of detail and instruction. No question was too small. Every technique was demonstrated thoughtfully, and every lesson was delivered with patience and genuine excitement for sharing their craft. Their knowledge, skill, and love for cooking were evident in every moment. Most importantly, this experience felt personal. We left with new culinary skills, a deeper appreciation for the region and its traditions, wonderful memories, and the feeling that we had spent time with friends rather than hosts. If you are looking for an authentic, welcoming, and truly memorable culinary experience, this is an absolute must. Thank you for sharing your home, your traditions, your stories, and your passion with us. It was one of the highlights of our trip and an experience we will remember for many years to come. ★★★★★

Sunday Midday Cooking Extravaganza

We had a Sunday midday cooking class experience with Angelina in her beautiful home. Her husband Soren provided transportation to and from our Athens hotel; he added local, historical commentary on both drives - interesting and insightful. Upon arrival, we were met with a beautiful spread of appetizers - the Dolmades were exquisite, best ever for me. We learned to make Tzatziki and baked feta phyllo packets to go with the appetizers. We put together a shrimp & tomato skillet dish and also a chicken orzo oven bake. Then we tackled deconstructed Baklava. All the food was beyond delicious, and we ate so much tasty food that we did not need to eat dinner that night! I can't wait to attempt each recipe in my own kitchen. This class was the highlight of our 2 week European trip through several countries. I have already recommended Angelina's class to several friends.

A Wonderful Cooking Experience

We did our class with Angelina and it was amazing. Angelina's husband picked us up at our Athens hotel and took us to their beautiful home in Athens. Once we arrived Angelina welcomed us and immediately connected with my wife on cooking and they set out on their adventure. Angelina had a number of dishes planned and my wife had so much fun preparing the meals with her. And the food was all absolutely delicious. My wife and I would do this again in a heartbeat if we come to Athens again. It was so much fun.

Greek Cooking Class

Had a really nice evening in Athens cooking and dinner with Angelina. Moussaka was delicious and appetizers were so tasty. What a great way to taste the authentic greek foods. Thanks for welcoming us into your home.

Private Athens Cooking Class: Traditional Greek Cuisine at Home: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Athens.

How much does Private Athens Cooking Class: Traditional Greek Cuisine at Home cost?

+

Prices start at $115 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Athens usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Athens Cooking Class: Traditional Greek Cuisine at Home take?

+

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Athens is not rushed.

Is Private Athens Cooking Class: Traditional Greek Cuisine at Home worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 60 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Athens, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Athens Cooking Class: Traditional Greek Cuisine at Home?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Athens Cooking Class: Traditional Greek Cuisine at Home suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Athens Cooking Class: Traditional Greek Cuisine at Home?

+

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Athens can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Athens and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Athens Cooking Class: Traditional Greek Cuisine at Home start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Athens within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Athens?

+

On Outty we rank every Athens experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Athens Small Group E-Bike Tour, Small Group Greek Traditional Food Tour in Athens 20+ Tastings, Athens Scenic Bike Tour with Regular or Electric Bike + Acropolis. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Athens?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Athens?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
