Best of the best tour
Absolutely wonderful experience. Vikor reached out the day before to confirm our booking and discuss our preferred itinerary. Pedro was on time for our tour and made the tour the best we could hope for. He is knowledgeable about the area and a brilliant historian of the world. He quite conversant on many subjects. At our request he took us to a fabulous off the beaten path for a magnificent lunch with awesome views. Pedro is one of the best tour guides we have ever had the privilege of touring with. ✅✅✅✅✅
Response from the operator: Thanks for your review! We are really happy to know your tour was this special!!! I'm sending this review for Victor and Pedro right now to share this joy!

It turned out to be our best day in Rio!
Thiago was our guide. On a scale of one to ten, I would give him a twenty. Growing up, he attended a bilingual school and thus his English is very good. He’s spent his whole life in Rio, is college educated, super knowledgeable, compassionate and energetic. We booked a six hour tour with him but we ended up with an eight and a half hour tour. He insisted that we didn’t need to pay him for the extra time. I insisted that if he didn’t accept payment for his additional time, I wasn’t going to be happy. I won. During my week in Rio, we used several different guides, most of whom were selected by a friend of ours who has resided in Rio for the past 40 years and who works as a journalist. Unlike the other guides we used, Thiago was selected by me based solely on his TripAdvisor reviews. Our day with Thiago turned out to be the best day of our trip, by far. Thank you Thiago!!!
Response from the operator: Cinthya, I have to tell you that you were perhaps the first person to win a negotiation with Thiago! I’m so glad you had such a delightful experience with our team! We hope to welcome you back soon!

This is an excellent tour. Our guide Vitor planned the day according to our interests and time, allowing us to see and learn a lot about Rio in a day. The car was comfortable, Vitor was very knowledgeable, friendly and entertaining.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for the review. I’m thrilled to hear that Vitor helped tailored the day so well to your pace and that you got to enjoy and learn so much about Rio. Thanks for recommending us, and hope to welcome you back again!

Great!!!
This was a wonderful tour! I had only one day to sightsee and I saw so much in a short time. Tiago was knowledgeable, engaging and incredibly helpful. I give him and the whole experience my top recommendation!!
Response from the operator: Thanks a lot for taking the time to share this. So glad Tiago made the most of your single day in the city and gave you such a great experience. We really appreciate the top recommendation! Hope you get to come back to Rio with a bit more time next time!

Rio in a day
My wife and thoroughly enjoyed our all day tour of Rio with our guide Vitor. Vitor worked with us to customize the itinerary so that we were able to see all of the main attractions plus explore places that were off the beaten path and learn about local culture. Vitor was knowledgeable and efficient. I was amazed at how much we were able to see and learn in one day. Recommend him highly if you’re looking for a Rio tour.
Response from the operator: Hi, Thomas! Thank you so much for the detailed review. It’s awesome to hear that Vitor hit all the right spots and tailored the day to give you such a complete experience of the city—both the highlights and the hidden gems. We truly appreciate the high recommendation!

Private and Customizable Tour in Rio de Janeiro: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Rio de Janeiro.
How much does Private and Customizable Tour in Rio de Janeiro cost?
+
Prices start at $314 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Rio de Janeiro usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private and Customizable Tour in Rio de Janeiro take?
+
Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Rio de Janeiro is not rushed.
Is Private and Customizable Tour in Rio de Janeiro worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 77 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 104 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Rio de Janeiro, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private and Customizable Tour in Rio de Janeiro?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private and Customizable Tour in Rio de Janeiro suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private and Customizable Tour in Rio de Janeiro?
+
Around 36 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Rio de Janeiro can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Rio de Janeiro and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private and Customizable Tour in Rio de Janeiro start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Rio de Janeiro within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Rio de Janeiro?
+
On Outty we rank every Rio de Janeiro experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Pedra da Gávea hike, your best experience in Rio, Favela Tour Rio de Janeiro - Vidigal Walking Tour by Russo Guide, Rio's Full Day: Selarón Steps, Christ & Sugarloaf – Tickets & Lunch Included. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Rio de Janeiro?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Rio de Janeiro?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
