An expensive and bad experience with Giuseppe
Giuseppe gave us an expensive and bad experience. August 2025 A bad experience, having paid over $1,000 for a private tour from Positano to Amalfi. We were a family of five, all adults. When we boarded, we greeted the captain, Giuseppe, with a polite "good day," but he didn't respond. I asked him politely, "Do you prefer English or Spanish?" to which he rudely replied, "Italian," and he fell silent. Then, he went to the back and came back to rudely tell us, "Vómito afuera!" At that point, my family and I were facing six hours of confinement on the boat with this person. We talked among ourselves during the trip, trying to enjoy the tour, which we were very excited about, and about an hour later, Giuseppe started talking to us, pointing out some hotels we were passing by. On the other hand, the tour package included snacks, which he never offered, and the appetizers included limoncello, which he also didn't offer. I understand that to offer services to tourists, at the very least, people should be polite and well-mannered. Not tecommended at all.
Response from the operator: As reported by the skipper Giuseppe its not true that he didn't answer to your "Good Day" when you come on board and that during the welcome briefing we usually do to all guests, he answered Italian when you asked do you prefer English or Spanish, maybe you were confused because he answered both. We feel sorry to read your false review! A clear defamatory case. The problem of all was that you have vomited inside the boat spreading all over your vomit and then Giuseppe the skipper had to clean it. Your behaviour was unacceptable! That's why he told you "Vomita afuera" meaning please vomit outside into the sea. We are so sad whenever happends this for seasickness and always we give a plastic bag or ask the person to vomit outside into the sea. To avoid making dirty all over as you have done. We wish don't have on board persons same as you. Sometimes its not easy for us, we are facing people not so educated, you pay the boat tour and think you can do what you want on board. But its not like this, on board all boats there are several rules to respect. If I could make a review on you I give less then one star for sure! We have everythingh on board as described in the tour details including dry snacks beside the seat of the skipper, you may take it whenever you want, along with drinks in the minifridge, its self service. We always give a warm welcome on board to everyone explaining the boat in few details and agree with the guests the route to follow, customizing it in base the customer requests. We understand you had not a good day for seasickness as reported by Giuseppe but its not this the way to review our activity with false declarations as you done. This is a defamatory action in our regards and especially to the one of our skippers 'Giuseppe' who has a lots of experience in this kind of activity and almost every day deal with guests from all over the world coming to visit our wondeful land.

Fun morning in amalfi
We had a great time on our trip with positano boat tours. The skipper was helpful and pointed things out as we went along and found some great swimming spots for us. Recommended if you’re looking to do a boat trip. For us, half a day was perfect (3 adults and a 7 year old)
Response from the operator: Thanks and really appreciated, our goal is that you have a wonderful day. We try always to do our best, you had nice spots swimming I remenber :) Thanks

Private Amalfi Coast Half-Day Boat Tour with Snorkeling: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Amalfi.
How much does Private Amalfi Coast Half-Day Boat Tour with Snorkeling cost?
+
Prices start at $946 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Amalfi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Amalfi Coast Half-Day Boat Tour with Snorkeling take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Amalfi is not rushed.
Is Private Amalfi Coast Half-Day Boat Tour with Snorkeling worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 47 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3/5 across 2 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Amalfi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Amalfi Coast Half-Day Boat Tour with Snorkeling?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Amalfi Coast Half-Day Boat Tour with Snorkeling suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Amalfi Coast Half-Day Boat Tour with Snorkeling?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Amalfi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Amalfi and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Amalfi Coast Half-Day Boat Tour with Snorkeling start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Amalfi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Amalfi?
+
On Outty we rank every Amalfi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Hands-On Cooking Class & Farmhouse Tour on the Amalfi Coast, Amalfi Coast Boat Rental: Explore, Swim, and Relax at Your Pace, Amalfi Coast & Positano: Boat Tour with Snorkeling & Drinks. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Amalfi?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Amalfi?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
