Citadel of Qaitbay
Sultan Abu Al-Nasr Sayf ad-Din Al-Ashraf Qaitbay (Arabic: السلطان أبو النصر سيف الدين الأشرف قايتباي) (c. 1416/1418 – 7 August 1496) was the eighteenth Burji Mamluk Sultan of Egypt from 872-901 A.H. (1468-1496 C.E.). (Other transliterations of his name include Qaytbay and Kait Bey.) He was Circassian by birth, and was purchased by the ninth sultan Barsbay (1422 to 1438 C.E.) before being freed by the eleventh Sultan Jaqmaq (1438 to 1453 C.E.). During his reign, he stabilized the Mamluk state and economy, consolidated the northern boundaries of the Sultanate with the Ottoman Empire, engaged in trade with other contemporaneous polities, and emerged as a great patron of art and architecture. In fact, although Qaitbay fought sixteen military campaigns, he is best remembered for the spectacular building projects that he sponsored, leaving his mark as an architectural patron on Mecca, Medina, Jerusalem, Damascus, Aleppo, Alexandria, and every quarter of Cairo. Alexandria tour
Reham umm Youssef arranged everything perfectly for me. I arranged everything with her via WhatsApp one day in advance. The morning of my arrival from Hurghada she picked me up from the arrival hall. The price was very fair considering the length of the drive (3 hours one way). Total was 130 USD both ways, including water and coffee during the ride. I paid in Euros in cash with the exchange rate of today without any additional fees. The trip from Cairo Airport to Alexandria was very pleasant and comfortable. The car was clean, the driver Hani was very friendly and polite and brought me everywhere I wanted. He spoke English, which is a plus as well. I highly recommend Reham umm Youssef and her company, she is very polite and arranged everything for you without any problems. In general a great experience. 5 stars! ⭐️
Response from the operator: Dear Robert, thank you for your wonderful 5-star review. We are delighted that Reham Umm Youssef arranged everything smoothly and that Hani made your Cairo–Alexandria journey comfortable, safe, and enjoyable. Your recommendation means a great deal to our team, and we look forward to welcoming you again. Best regards, Manager Flamingo Travel and Tours

+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Cairo?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Cairo?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
