Santiago stands out for its easy access to imposing peaks such as Cerro Pintor, located at 4180 meters above sea level. This hill, famous for its red, green and blue colors, can be accessed in one day from Santiago, starting at the La Parva ski center. The route includes an ascent to Laguna Piuquenes and then an additional 200 meters to El Pintor, passing through La Parva hill. Although technically simple, the route requires physical effort, especially at more than 4,000 meters above sea level where the climate is colder and the air drier. The summit offers spectacular views, especially of El Plomo Hill. Fantastiskt
I cannot emphasize enough how much I have appreciated this experience with Vicho and Javi. The adventure itself a lovely mix of challenges and magic. Most of all, this couple were the best people to share this experience with, I appreciate all their knowledge, expertise, mental and physical support, thoughtfulness, hospitality, friendliness and flexibility according to my needs and preferences. This was especially important for me since this was the first time I did something of this kind, and I felt safely out of my comfort zone. Until next time!

What a hike! A wonderful experience, start to finish
Very professional operation. Vicente was friendly, responsive and timely with his communications leading up to our big hike. The morning of the hike he picked us up loaded with any extra gear and supplies we might need, including a thermos of hot coffee to get us started. During the hike he was motivational, friendly and knowledgeable about wildlife, geology and climate. He constantly monitored us for our health and safety at altitude. Back at the vehicle after the hike he surprised us with a couple ice-cold beers he'd kept in a cooler - the perfect celebratory beverage after more than 1500m of elevation to a 4100m summit! All in all, money well spent for a beautifully memorable day. The next time we are in Chile, we will definitely plan another trek with Vicente and Puma Adventures!
Response from the operator: Lisa, thank you so much for your words! It was a pleasure to share this experience with you. I’m glad you enjoyed those small details along the way (and of course, the well-earned beers at the end 😉). You’ll always be welcome here, looking forward to your next adventure in Chile.

Longing for the high mountains!
During my four-day stay at the 4200m base camp, my guide Vicente really cared about me 24 hours a day and made sure I could climb El Promo. Unfortunately, my altitude sickness symptoms did not heal and I gave up climbing at 4800m, but I was able to climb to an altitude far higher than Japan's highest mountain, Mt. Fuji, thanks to Vicente's wonderful tour. Muchas Gracias, Vicente! Look at the Andes, which are not yet known to Japanese people.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much Arata!! ⛰️ It was a pleasure sharing this challenge with you. Even though reaching the summit wasn’t possible, the most important thing is that you got to experience the incredible Andes landscapes. I hope to welcome more climbers from Japan in the future. Muchas gracias and see you on the next adventure!

I was with them on a three-day expedition, where we managed to make four wonderful summits. An experience full of commitment for the well-being of each of us, happy and infinitely grateful!!!
Response from the operator: Muchas gracias, Lore por tus palabras!! Fue un placer compartir esta expedición contigo. Nos alegra saber que disfrutaste la experiencia y que te sentiste cuidada en todo momento. Nos vemos en otra aventura!!

Private Adventure at 4200 meters above sea level in the Chilean Andes Cerro Pintor: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Santiago.
How much does Private Adventure at 4200 meters above sea level in the Chilean Andes Cerro Pintor cost?
+
Prices start at $300 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Santiago usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Adventure at 4200 meters above sea level in the Chilean Andes Cerro Pintor take?
+
Plan for about 12 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Santiago is not rushed.
Is Private Adventure at 4200 meters above sea level in the Chilean Andes Cerro Pintor worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 64 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 9 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Santiago, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Adventure at 4200 meters above sea level in the Chilean Andes Cerro Pintor?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Adventure at 4200 meters above sea level in the Chilean Andes Cerro Pintor suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 12-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Adventure at 4200 meters above sea level in the Chilean Andes Cerro Pintor?
+
Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Santiago can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Santiago and add a light layer if any part of the 12-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Adventure at 4200 meters above sea level in the Chilean Andes Cerro Pintor start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Santiago within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Santiago?
+
On Outty we rank every Santiago experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Maipo Valley Wine Region: 4 Wineries, Tastings & Foodie Tour, Valparaiso Port and Viña del Mar with Casablanca Wine Tasting, Tour to Valparaíso, Viña del Mar, Pablo Neruda Museum and Vineyard. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Santiago?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Santiago?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
What is included in Private Adventure at 4200 meters above sea level in the Chilean Andes Cerro Pintor?
+
Included: Trekking sticks; Private transportation; First aid kit; Satellite communication; and Photographs. Always check the voucher for the final list before you travel.
