Fabulous wine tour in the Adelaide Hills
From the minute we arranged our tour Mary was fantastic. She is a very knowledgeable wine guide and it was great to get an insight into the region. Would highly recommend Mary and John for your winery experience! We'll definitely be booking again on our return.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your detailed review. It's heartening to hear feedback and even better when so detailed and positive. We always try our best to tailor the days tasting itinerary to our guests requests. Sometimes this takes us to some our own special venues, that are producing and showcasing some very interesting wine varieties. It would be an absolute pleasure to see you both again and to explore more wineries and Cellar Doors within the famous Adelaide Wine Region of South Australia. Regards Mary (and John) Best Wine Tours

Private Adelaide Hills Wine Tour
We had a great day out with John who was so helpful in us planning our visit to the Adelaide Hills and really flexible with us on the day. John is very knowledgeable about Adelaide and the wine regions and was very generous in sharing his experiences with us. Travelled in a nice BMW in comfort and just the pace we wanted. Thanks John!
Response from the operator: Thank you for your positive review, great to hear you liked the flexible itinerary. We feel it's important to offer this as many guests are new to the area and see things they wish to do when they arrive in the area. We want our guests to have the 'Best day out ever' So looking forward to your next Adelaide trip to visit yet another famous Adelaide wine region. Best regards John

Fantastic experience, really enjoyed!
Went out on a 4 hour tour of Adelaide hills wineries. We picked where we wanted to go (he offered suggestions based on what we wanted), and John arranged the rest. Great day out! Really recommend, John and Best Wine Tours. It was totally flexible so we could have made it a longer experience but we only wanted a half day, plus we got to choose our start time. He arrived early to pick us up, in his immaculate BMW - which was a very comfortable ride for the day. He packed us some snacks and gave us plenty of information (as much as we wanted/didn't want) on the area and wineries we were visiting. He provided the right amount of engagement with us at the wineries, leaving us to enjoy and letting us know when we should probably be thinking about leaving. Fantastic host. Really enjoyed it. Our favourite winery was Cobb Hill Estate, we also visted Sidewood and Grunthal.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your great review, we are so pleased that you enjoyed your day. Hope to see you again some time soon.

Why this scores 62
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private Adelaide Hills Wine Region Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Adelaide.
How much does Private Adelaide Hills Wine Region Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $488 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Adelaide usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Adelaide Hills Wine Region Tour take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Adelaide is not rushed.
Is Private Adelaide Hills Wine Region Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 62 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 23 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Adelaide, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Adelaide Hills Wine Region Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Adelaide Hills Wine Region Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Adelaide Hills Wine Region Tour?
+
Around 8 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Adelaide can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Adelaide and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Adelaide Hills Wine Region Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Adelaide within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Adelaide?
+
On Outty we rank every Adelaide experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Premium Barossa Small Group Tour: Wine tasting, Lunch & Chocolate, Discover Barossa: 4 Wine Tastings, Gourmet Lunch, and Hidden Gems, Adelaide Highlights, Hahndorf & McLaren Vale Wine Tasting and Sightseeing Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Adelaide?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Adelaide?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
