Our guide Valentina was absolutely wonderful; she was very knowledgeable and kindhearted. We had four people in our group with limited mobility, and she was able to arrange the use of elevators to help us get around during our tour which was greatly appreciated. Wonderful afternoon in the Vatican City
We were picked up at our hotel to go see our guide Teresa outside the Vatican. The drivers were on time and manouvered the traffic effortlessly. They kept in touch with Teresa to confirm the meeting point and stayed until we met her. While waiting in line, Teresa went through the information and gave us our tickets. She talked about the history of the Vatican and the jubilee year that is this year. Inside, she guided us through the main parts of the entrance building and told us more about the different buildings; not least the Sistine chapel. We walked through the museums, stopping to have a better look and to get more information about the different works of art, pointing out fascinating information about details we would have missed ourselves. Finally, we arrived to the Sistine chapel where we were given some free time to take in the experience. We ended the tour in fron of S.t Peters basilica where the mass was being prepared. Teresa was a terrific guide who left us in awe of the beautiful art and architecture. Together with the drivers they made it into a wonderful afternoon, free from stress.
