Marilyn R. Phoenix City Tour
We had a very good city tour of Phoenix and the surrounding cities. I live in the Phoenix area and have my family from out of town visiting and requesting a tour of the Phoenix area. Our tour guide was Jon who was very knowledgeable and professional. He gave us lots of historical and other information about specific to the various cities including Phoenix, Tempe, and Scottsdale. He was courteous, flexible and sensitive to our needs. Especially honored our request to include a stop for lunch (I had my elderly sister on the tour) and we could take the time we needed. He made our tour very interesting. The only area that I would like to see our guide be more attentive to: (especially in the first part of the tour prior to going downtown) we passed many areas that were interesting where I had to on multiple occasions prompt the guide to slow down and identify some points of interests that we were passing so my family could get a better view and understanding of what they were looking at. of some Despite that I would recommend this tour and will look into taking other tours with this company.
Response from the operator: Thanks very much for taking our Phoenix highlights tour! We are glad to hear that you enjoyed the excursion. As these tours are flexible from 4 to 5 hours, we were happy to stretch it to the 5 hour option including time for lunch. Many guests enjoy that flexibility. We will do our best to point out everything that we can along the way, and will note your comments about that. With Phoenix being very spread out over 500 square miles, it is tough to get it all in and stay on schedule, but we sure do try. We also have longer tour options, that are a bit slower pace, with more time for stops. It is a great city with a lot to cover. Thanks again!

We visited several sites...
We visited several sites in phoenix that were very interesting and we definitely could not have seen all the sights on our own in the same amount of time. Our guide was very sweet and had some knowledge of sites but often could not answer questions and had some difficulty with directions.
Response from the operator: Thanks very much for your feedback. Glad to hear that it was of benefit to see as much of the area as possible. We are very up front with guests that book this tour, about the nature of it, and how it compares to tours in other cities. Our Phoenix City Tours are a "highlights driving tour". A driving tour through the areas of ASU campus, Papago Park, Downtown Phoenix, the Capitol building, the Biltmore / Wrigley Mansion area, and Old Town Scottsdale. In other cities, it is easy to memorize every single factoid about a very specific area. Phoenix is VERY spread out and there is no way to answer all guest questions. That said, we are sorry this did not completely meet expectations. For potential guests, when booking this tour, be advised that we will share these details with you at booking, and make sure that this is what you are looking for. It is a general Phoenix highlights tour that covers a vast area, versus a very specific area focusing on one area of town.

Why this scores 55
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private 4 Hour City Highlights Tour of Phoenix / Scottsdale: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Phoenix.
How much does Private 4 Hour City Highlights Tour of Phoenix / Scottsdale cost?
+
Prices start at $575 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Phoenix usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private 4 Hour City Highlights Tour of Phoenix / Scottsdale take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Phoenix is not rushed.
Is Private 4 Hour City Highlights Tour of Phoenix / Scottsdale worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 55 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Phoenix, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private 4 Hour City Highlights Tour of Phoenix / Scottsdale?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private 4 Hour City Highlights Tour of Phoenix / Scottsdale suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private 4 Hour City Highlights Tour of Phoenix / Scottsdale?
+
Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Phoenix can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Phoenix and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private 4 Hour City Highlights Tour of Phoenix / Scottsdale start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Phoenix within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Phoenix?
+
Phoenix runs on desert experiences: sunrise hot air balloon lifts over the Sonoran, Camelback and South Mountain hikes, off-road Tonto Forest tours and day trips to Sedona and the Grand Canyon. Heat safety and start times decide whether a tour is good, so we weight timing detail in the ranking. On Outty we rank every Phoenix experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Kayaking the Salt River Foxtail Trip, Grand Canyon with Sedona and Oak Creek Canyon Van Tour, Phoenix Hot Air Balloon Ride at Sunrise. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Phoenix?
+
November to April. Summer tours run at dawn or not at all. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Phoenix?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
