The Karnak Temple
Your German-speaking guide will accompany you throughout the excursion. When we arrive in Luxor, our first program point is a visit to the Karnak temple complex: it is the largest temple complex in Egypt on the eastern bank of the Nile, about 2.5 kilometers from Luxor. The oldest building remains of the temple still visible today come from the 12 dynasty under Sesostris. The purpose of the temple complex was for the priesthood to conduct daily temple service there. The large hall of columns is one of the most important remains of the temple. You will also visit the Oblisek and Heilge lakes and much more in the Karnak Temple.

Valley of the Kings
Our tour continues and we visit the Valley of the Kings. It is one of the main destination points for tourists in Egypt. Only a small part of the graves can be visited, in particular the graves of the rulers of the new empire from around 1550 to 1069 BC, 18 to 20 dynasties. In 1922, Tutankhamun's tomb was discovered largely intact. This place exudes its own magic. Let all these impressions and information sink in while we continue our day trip to Luxor and visit the terrace temple of Hatshepsut. Here your guide will show you 3 of the most beautiful tombs in the Valley of the Kings.

Temple of Hatshepsut
Terrace temple of Hatshepsut, is the mortuary temple of Hatshepsut and dates from the 18th dynasty and is the best preserved temple on the west bank of the Nile in Thebes. Its idiosyncratic architecture is striking. The entire temple was made of limestone and it took 15 years to build. After this visit, we will start our journey home back to Hurghada and bring you back to your hotel with wonderful impressions and a lot of new knowledge.

Two-day tour in Luxor
We started from the airport on the morning of August 20 and visited all the important destinations over two days and even traveled on the Nile, which was very relaxing. Our guide Markus described all the temples, tombs, and palaces in detail and gave us very insightful information about the ancient Egyptians. Very worth seeing and a recommended destination, especially the Valley of the Kings and the temples near Luxor were very impressive. All in all, a very successful stay.

It's not all gold that shines
Overall concept was fine. Ride by bus was exhausting. OK. You could have informed the travel times. Tour guide Markus did his best. Drivers had 70% of their phones on their ears and spoke loudly. Which was partly annoying. Except one was asleep. Lunch was okay. Overnight in ISIS Long Island, were surprised. Plus points. The entire tour was done well by Mark. So, now to the key point: Visiting Abu Simpel was hectic at the end. We were told we were under time pressure and had problems with the barriers on the road. There's no time for lunch. Would take a snack as a substitute on the way. The snack consisted of a filled croissant with chocolate. The said, chilled beverages were taken out of the cooler on the way home and privately purchased fish and food were stored there. This calls into question the price-performance ratio. It is called: Cheating pack, or fraud. I don't know if it fits in with your business policy. We will stay in our hotel again next year in May and plan excursions. The question is whether we will work with you again. With kind regards Franz Öckl

Super trip
We had booked a two-day excursion to Luxor, with Karnak Temple, Luxor Temple, Valley of the Kings, Temple of Hatshepsut, Colossi of Memnon and a boat trip on the Nile including overnight stay in Luxor. Our driver Mina drove our guide, me and my wife reliably and safely, which is really challenging in traffic conditions. Our guide Raafat has informed us well about the individual places and answered our questions and also spoke fluent German - what more could you want..? We also found it very good that Raafat showed us some typical Egyptian stuff, away from tourism. We stayed in a Steigenberger hotel directly on the Nile - top! Overall the best trip we have made so far. I can't think of anything negative. Anytime again!
Response from the operator: Liebe Gäste, Vielen Dank für Ihre Bewertung!

Wonderful trip to Luxor
We could enjoy a wonderful 2 active private excursion to Luxor. Everything dear completely smooth and uncomplicated. We were able to tailor the trip completely to our needs. Everything went on without sales distribution or annoying tour group. Our driver Wagdy chauffeured us great and our guide Daniel showed a lot of patience with us because we were traveling with our 5 year old daughter. Our hotel for the overnight stay had a fantastic view of the Nile. And the meals at the local restaurants were very delicious and authentic (all clean and safe). The trip was absolutely worth his money. Thank you

Why this scores 70
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private 2 day trip to Luxor with overnight stay: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Hurghada.
How much does Private 2 day trip to Luxor with overnight stay cost?
+
Prices start at $469 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Hurghada usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private 2 day trip to Luxor with overnight stay take?
+
Plan for about 48 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Hurghada is not rushed.
Is Private 2 day trip to Luxor with overnight stay worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 70 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 36 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Hurghada, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private 2 day trip to Luxor with overnight stay?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private 2 day trip to Luxor with overnight stay suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 48-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private 2 day trip to Luxor with overnight stay?
+
Around 13 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Hurghada can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Hurghada and add a light layer if any part of the 48-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private 2 day trip to Luxor with overnight stay start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Hurghada within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Hurghada?
+
On Outty we rank every Hurghada experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Hurghada Diving Adventure one Day with two Dives Boat Trip, Hurghada to Cairo: Pyramids & Museum for First-Time Visitors, Scuba Diving Full Day Boat Trip W/Lunch & Transfer from Hurghada. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Hurghada?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Hurghada?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
