    About this experience

Travel the entire south coast of Iceland with Hidden Iceland over two adventure filled days! Take in the impressive Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss waterfalls, as well as the Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach. Walk along the ridges of Fjaðrárgljúfur canyon before coming to our accommodation for the night. There’s a chance you’ll see the Northern Lights dancing across the sky. We start the next day at Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon where the giant icebergs float around and wash up on Diamond Beach. From here we drive to meet up with our local ice cave experts from Local Guide to embark on our Ice Cave adventure. We travel in their specialised Super Jeeps to get closer to the glacier. Stellar Iceland Introduction

Our stellar 3+ day private tour began in the planning stages with Rita, our Travel Expert with Hidden Iceland. Her communications and responsiveness increased our excitement and preparation with a tailored experience for our group of 4 women. Our knowledgable and personable guide, Fannar, shared his love of Iceland through stories and tailored experiences. We went behind waterfalls, captured geysers in slo-Mo, absorbed the aura of glaciers, immersed ourselves in the geothermal waters and ate some of the finest food anywhere. We highly recommend Hidden Iceland for their exceptional planning and organization; Icelandic knowledge and expertise; unique trip personalization with fun experiences; and their guidance through this land of fire and ice.

Response from the operator: Hi Sue, Wow! This review is incredible. Thank you so much. We pride ourselves in ensuring a seamless, personalised and caring journey from the initial inquiry to the end of each tour (and beyond). It really sounds like Rita and Fannar knocked it out of the park for you and your friends. They really do love what they do and it shows! This means so much to us that you would share your trip with others to show how wonderful a time you had. The land of fire and ice has so much to see & do, and it was our honour to be the ones to show you! Thanks again for choosing us!

    Fantastic Winter Adventure!

Our private 4-day tour for just the two of us was the adventure of a lifetime. Solrun from Hidden Island was very responsive and patiently worked with us to create a package that met all of our hopes in the price point agreed upon. Each hotel we stayed in was uniquely delightful, and we were not inundated to too many people. Food was fabulous. Driving ATVs on the black sand beaches was thrilling. Exploring the ice cave after trekking across the glacier was breathtaking. Soaking in the Blue Lagoon was a treat. Our activities were the best for this winter adventure. Learning about the history and culture of Iceland from our guide Ingimundur was undoubtedly the best part of our adventure. We will carry Iceland in our hearts forever.

Response from the operator: Thank you very much for your kind review—we truly appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. We’re delighted to hear that your journey was so memorable and that Sólrún was able to create a trip that matched your expectations. It’s great to know you enjoyed the variety of experiences, from the glacier and ice cave to the Blue Lagoon and black sand beaches. We’re especially pleased that your time with Ingimundur stood out—his knowledge and storytelling really do make a difference. Thank you again for traveling with us, and we hope to welcome you back to Iceland in the future.

Amazing trip and service. Could not jhave been better.

We arranged a private 4 day three night northern lights long weekend with another couple. Hidden Iceland service, responsiveness, itinerary, flexibility, coordination, and guide were amazing. We will use them again, if and when we return for a summer trip. Our guide, Fannar, was incredible. Smart, knowledgeable, friendly, fun, flexible, and gave us great insight into everything from every day life to astronomy. We could not have had a better experience.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for the wonderful review, David. It sounds like the 4 day private tour was as amazing as you described, and to have Fannar as your guide makes it even better. Thank you for trusting Hidden Iceland with your dream trip and we look forward to welcoming you back again one day.

Amazing 50th Birthday with Hidden Iceland

Traveled to Iceland last fall for my husband's 50th Birthday. Can't say enough good things about this wonderful company. Top notch from beginning to end. Easy communication throughout the planning. They actually helped us. book two separate tours back to back and arranged for the overnight stay in between. We did the 2 day Glacier Lagoon and the 1 day golden Circle. Both of our tour guides were amazing. Very informative and kept us safe. Truly a spectacular experience and would highly recommend. It was the perfect way to experience Iceland without having to worry about driving ourselves. Highly recommend.

    What a trip!

Incredible experience! Our guide was fantastic and we loved hearing all about the sites that we saw as well as Icelandic culture. He also made last minute stops for the group to take amazing photos, including a northern lights stop!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re happy to hear that you had an incredible experience and enjoyed learning about Iceland’s sights and culture. It’s great to know that your guide’s stories added to your adventure and that those spontaneous stops—especially for the Northern Lights—helped create lasting memories. We’d be delighted to welcome you back for more amazing moments in Iceland. Thank you again for choosing us!

Private 2-Day Glacier Lagoon, Ice Cave and Northern Lights: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Reykjavik.

How much does Private 2-Day Glacier Lagoon, Ice Cave and Northern Lights cost?

    +

Prices start at $7400 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Reykjavik usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private 2-Day Glacier Lagoon, Ice Cave and Northern Lights take?

    +

Plan for about 48 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Reykjavik is not rushed.

Is Private 2-Day Glacier Lagoon, Ice Cave and Northern Lights worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 65 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 111 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Reykjavik, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private 2-Day Glacier Lagoon, Ice Cave and Northern Lights?

    +

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is Private 2-Day Glacier Lagoon, Ice Cave and Northern Lights suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 48-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private 2-Day Glacier Lagoon, Ice Cave and Northern Lights?

    +

Around 39 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Reykjavik can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Reykjavik and add a light layer if any part of the 48-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private 2-Day Glacier Lagoon, Ice Cave and Northern Lights start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Reykjavik within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Reykjavik?

    +

On Outty we rank every Reykjavik experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Reykjavik Food Walk - Local Foodie Adventure in Iceland, Small-Group Golden Circle, Blue Lagoon with Ticket & Kerid Crater, Reykjavík Small group Walking Tour - by CityWalk. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Reykjavik?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Reykjavik?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
