Delphi was the cultural and religious heart of the Hellenic world. Set in a stunning landscape, once considered the center of the world, where, according to mythology, two eagles sent by Zeus to find the navel of the world, met. The site, once sacred to Mother Earth and guarded by the serpent Python, later became Apollo’s sanctuary, built by Cretans arriving at Kirrha (the port of Delphi) accompanied by the god in the form of a dolphin. Such myths were celebrated in the Delphic festivals, like the Pythia and the Delphinia, with music and athletic competitions. Explore unique monuments such as the Treasury of the Athenians, the Temple of Apollo, the Athenian Stoa, and the Polygonal Wall with our expert guide, ensuring you don’t miss a thing.

Famous for its traditional stone houses, cozy atmosphere, and stunning views, Arachova is a popular destination for skiing, hiking, and exploring nearby Delphi. Visitors can enjoy local delicacies like formaela cheese, shop for handmade textiles, and experience the town’s vibrant après-ski scene. Great day but skip the included lunch
Great guide, very knowledgeable. Was nice to go round the museum first where you got a better idea of the site. Beware the lunch option if you have kids (reason I dropped a star), options are all adult based, my child ate a slice of bread! Would have been better to buy separately. The service is also too quick, they gave us our mains 5 mins after our starters. Obviously been told to get us out quick but we had over an hour so plenty of time to eat at a slower pace.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your review. We’re very happy to hear that you enjoyed the guided visit and that seeing the museum first helped you get a better understanding of Delphi and the site. We’re sorry to hear that the lunch options weren’t suitable for your child, leaving them with only a slice of bread. We also appreciate your comment about the pace of the meal, and we’ll be sure to share these comments with the team responsible for the lunch arrangement. We hope to see you again on another tour in the future. Best Regards, Tag Athens team

The tour was great. Our tour guide was excellent! He explained everything clearly and answered our questions. We chose the option that included lunch. The food was ok, and since we didn't have to look for options, we had time to walk around town a bit. But there are other options to eat.
Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your experience. It’s wonderful to hear that you enjoyed the tour and that our guide made the visit informative and enjoyable. We’re also pleased that the lunch option worked well for you and gave you some extra time to explore the town. We hope to welcome you again on one of our tours. Best Regards, Tag Athens team

Since Delphi is in ruins,...
Since Delphi is in ruins, detailed commentary necessary to make sense of place. Suggest end of tour should be at the theater and not just stops below.
Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your feedback. Delphi’s archaeological remains can certainly be better appreciated with detailed commentary, which is why our licensed guides provide context throughout the visit. Following the guided tour, guests also have free time to explore the site at their own pace, including the opportunity to continue up to the stadium. We appreciate your suggestion and hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you on another tour in the future. Best Regards, Tag Athens team

Delphi day trip
John the archaeologist was an amazing guide, full of knowledge and humor. This tour is not for the faint of heart, a lot of walking and steep rocky paths. John set a good pace, but it is still quite a hike. Fees were included as well as lunch with our ticket.
Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re delighted to hear that John made the tour both informative and enjoyable with his knowledge and sense of humor. Delphi’s terrain can certainly be challenging, so we’re glad to hear a comfortable pace was kept along the way. We hope to welcome you back on another tour the future. Best Regards, Tag Athens team

Why this scores 87
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Premium Delphi Day Trip with an Expert Guide, Museum & Lunch: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Athens.
How much does Premium Delphi Day Trip with an Expert Guide, Museum & Lunch cost?
+
Prices start at $49 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Athens usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Premium Delphi Day Trip with an Expert Guide, Museum & Lunch take?
+
Plan for about 11 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Athens is not rushed.
Is Premium Delphi Day Trip with an Expert Guide, Museum & Lunch worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 87 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 1,286 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Athens, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Premium Delphi Day Trip with an Expert Guide, Museum & Lunch?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Premium Delphi Day Trip with an Expert Guide, Museum & Lunch suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 11-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Premium Delphi Day Trip with an Expert Guide, Museum & Lunch?
+
Around 450 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Athens can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Athens and add a light layer if any part of the 11-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Premium Delphi Day Trip with an Expert Guide, Museum & Lunch start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Athens within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Athens?
+
On Outty we rank every Athens experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Athens Small Group E-Bike Tour, Small Group Greek Traditional Food Tour in Athens 20+ Tastings, Athens Scenic Bike Tour with Regular or Electric Bike + Acropolis. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Athens?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Athens?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
