Patient and Knowledgable Guide Made a Great Experience

We had the great fortune of having one of the company's owners, Eric, as our guide. He was right on time and gave us a lot of information about the park on the way up the mountain. The lodge's description of the tour stated a bike ride down the mountain from the main parking lot. Eric told us that they don't do that anymore, but allowed my son and I to do it while my wife and daughter drove down in the following truck. From there, he was able to coax my daughter to bike the road even though she was uncomfortable with the bikes. He gave us all the time we needed and the route provided terrific views of the park that we otherwise would not have seen. He also allowed us to stay out for an extra hour or so since we were slower than other adult groups. We couldn't be happier with the tour.

Best day ever!

Cecil & Andres were our guides for the day and they were awesome. So kind and considerate and really wanted to make our experience the best! I went with my two boys and they helped us have a great time and stay safe while doing it. We really had one of the best days of our lives! Eric made a custom day for us, and it turned out to be just perfect!

Super cool!

This was a great excursion! The guide and driver were very friendly and helpful the whole time. It is a lot of time in the car, but the biking is a lot of fun and it is amazing to be out in Cotopaxi National park! When we went there were only 4 of us in the group so the excursion was very personalized and more intimate, and we hardly saw anyone else in the park all day. You can choose how much you want to bike throughout which is also nice!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your kind words! We’re really happy to hear you enjoyed the experience in Cotopaxi National Park—it truly is a special place to ride. We’re glad our team made you feel comfortable and that the small group created a more personalized and intimate adventure. It’s great to know you appreciated the flexibility of the ride as well—that’s exactly the kind of experience we aim to deliver!

Cotopaxi mountain biking day trip

We had a great day biking down Cotopaxi today. Our guide Andreas was very knowledgeable and spoke excellent English. We were lucky to be the only people on the tour today and he took the tour at a pace that was comfortable for us, and he made sure we got safely down the volcano. Gabriel, our driver was also great and was always on handheld needed. A great day trip from Quito, highly recommend.

Just do it!

We had an amazing time with Andres as our tour guide. He always made sure we were well informed about the obstacles ahead since we are not experienced mountain bikers. We had an e-bike which made the ride much more enjoyable. Nothing beats riding in the prairie with wild horses, Cotopaxi, Ruminahui, and Pucara del Salitre surrounding you. Erik and Mateo, the owners, were wonderful as well.

Premium Cotopaxi -Full Day Bike Trip: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Quito.

How much does Premium Cotopaxi -Full Day Bike Trip cost?

+

Prices start at $80 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Quito usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Premium Cotopaxi -Full Day Bike Trip take?

+

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Quito is not rushed.

Is Premium Cotopaxi -Full Day Bike Trip worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 71 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 67 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Quito, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Premium Cotopaxi -Full Day Bike Trip?

+

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is Premium Cotopaxi -Full Day Bike Trip suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 6. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 8-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Premium Cotopaxi -Full Day Bike Trip?

+

Around 23 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Quito can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Quito and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Premium Cotopaxi -Full Day Bike Trip start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Quito within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Quito?

+

On Outty we rank every Quito experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Cotopaxi tour from Quito -horseback ride and hike-NO TOURISTY way, Baños Full Day Tour from Quito Including Entrances and Activities, Gastronomic and Cultural Walking Tour of Quito with Tastings. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Quito?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Quito?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
