About this experience
Did you know that Czechs pour their favourite Pilsner Urquell beer in three different styles? They are called Hladinka, Šnyt and Mlíko, and even though they are made of exactly the same beer, they taste completely different. The secret is in the foam! Embark on a 60-minute journey and change the way you see beer - forever. During the exclusive Tapster Academy, a beer-pouring class held in one of our stunning private bars, our professional tapsters will teach you the secrets of how to pour a perfect beer. You will understand the importance of ingredients, beer storage, pouring methods, cleanliness, and much more. During the class, you will learn to pour all three Pilsner Urquell pours, but most importantly, you will be able to distinguish a great beer from a bad one and recognize the most common mistakes when it comes to beer pouring. At the end of the Tapster Academy, you will receive a certificate of completion, and also a nicely packed Pilsner Urquell bottle with your name! :)

A Prague must-do.
I initially booked in for just the Tapster Academy, but later went back and did the tour too. The Tapster Academy was brilliant. Toby was our teacher and he really knew about everything that goes into a perfect Pilsner Urquell, even showing us how the taps work and telling us how to spot a badly poured beer. The best part? Every beer you pour, whether outlets correctly or not, you can still drink. The tour was also very good, with another beer tasting included. The exhibit is more of an experience than a museum, taking you through every process involved in making Pilsner Urquell. Strangely, Pilsner Urquell is such a low ABV that even after all the beer I practically felt sober. If you like beer, this is the place to be in Prague.

Fine if you a Really Extreme Beer Lover
The Original Tour was cheesy but fun and lighthearted. If you really like beer and want something interactive, the Original Tour is worth the money. Additionally, we did the Tapster Academy which is only worth the expensive price if A) you are really really into beer and can/want to drink 4-5 of the same type of beer in an hour or B) with a large group. We were the only 2 people in it which felt awkward and although we like beer, to us this additional experience was not worth us spending $140 USD in total.
Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback — we really appreciate it. Hopefully you like engraved mugs with your name after the Beer Sommelier dinner and the personalised bottle and certificate after the Tapster Academy. These are exactly the kinds of details we hope make the experience memorable, and it’s great to know our visitors value them.

Prague Beer Pouring Class at Pilsner Urquell: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Prague.
How much does Prague Beer Pouring Class at Pilsner Urquell cost?
+
Prices start at $43 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Prague usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Prague Beer Pouring Class at Pilsner Urquell take?
+
Plan for about 1 hour from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Prague is not rushed.
Is Prague Beer Pouring Class at Pilsner Urquell worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 73 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 143 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Prague, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Prague Beer Pouring Class at Pilsner Urquell?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Prague Beer Pouring Class at Pilsner Urquell suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Prague Beer Pouring Class at Pilsner Urquell?
+
Around 50 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Prague can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Prague and add a light layer if any part of the 1-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Prague Beer Pouring Class at Pilsner Urquell start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Prague within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Prague?
+
On Outty we rank every Prague experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Best Reviews: Bohemian & Saxon Switzerland Day Trip From Prague, Bohemian & Saxon Switzerland From Prague-Travelers' Choice 2026, 3-hour Complete Prague Bike Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Prague?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Prague?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
