A wonderful visit to the Prado
I’m not particularly knowledgeable about the world of art, so I was looking for a guide who could help me explore the Prado and, more importantly, help me see the best of it. This tour did that perfectly. Cassie was a fantastic host. She was knowledgeable, engaging and had a wonderful way of bringing the paintings and the history behind them to life. She kept us enthralled as we explored the key pieces, and I came away with a much greater appreciation not only for the artwork, but also for the history of Spain. And then came another treat — access to Botín before opening time. Getting to see the kitchen and cellars, before sitting down together for a wonderful meal. Croquettas, suckling pig and the most amazing cheesecake that I would come back to Madrid especially for. Botín also happily catered for a variety of dietary requirements, which was much appreciated. I wholeheartedly recommend this tour, whether you’re travelling solo, as a couple or a group. Thank you, Cassie, for a truly special day. Ngā mihi nui! 🇳🇿❤️🇪🇸

This was an excellent tour! Florin was a wonderful guide and gave us such an insightful look at the Prada museum and we really enjoyed time to see Botin and experience lunch there and we just had a fun time with our small group and guide.

Excellent curated experience at 2 hot spots
Highly recommend this tour. Our guide Mariano was very knowledgeable in the history of Spain and how it threads through the artwork st the Prado, and as a trained artist was able to give very entertaining and informative discussions of the artwork itself. And with regards to Botin, we literally got to go right past a crowd waiting at the door to be let in first, being able to see the restaurant empty and take a brief tour of it to learn some history. Being able to peek in the kitchen at the oven and go into the basement and the remnant of the tunnels underneath was so cool, and a real highlight of the tour. Plus then we had a fantastic lunch! I much preferred this experience to just getting a Botin reservation. Plus, with the museum being free the last few hours of the day anyway we could just go back later after a rest to recharge if we wanted to see more of the Prado than we saw in the around 1:45 we spent in the museum.

Art & Food: a perfect snapshot of Madrid
We had an awesome experience with Mariano on our Prado tour followed by lunch at Botin. Mariano had just the right touch: the paintings were interesting on their own, but he wove them together with a historical thread that really enhanced the visit. Our walk to Botin was through the lovely Barrio de Las Letras, and Mariano pointed out many places of interest along the way. Lunch at Botin was a real treat with a little behind the scenes tour before the meal. Do not hesitate to book this fun, interesting, and delicious tour!
