Not to be missed!
Despite the early start this was a great trip. Piran is a lovely place on the Adriatic coast - lovely promenade, walk to the church, cafes serving traditional olive oil cake, (delicious!) ice cream and interesting shops. The castle , the oldest in Slovenia, was excellent with a free audio guide and well set out rooms. The caves were amazing - large cavernous areas with huge stalagmites and stalagtites. The train, from which you entered and exited was very unusual and the guided walking tour once inside was very informative. Took about an hour but mostly flat with railings and some steps.
Response from the operator: What an incredible day trip! Combining the subterranean grandeur of Postojna Cave, the historic charm of Predjama Castle, and the sunny Mediterranean vibes of coastal Piran makes for a long itinerary, but as you mentioned, the rewards make that early start completely worth it. Sampling local olive oil cake along the promenade, taking in the coastal views, riding the subterranean train through the massive caverns, and exploring the rooms of Predjama are all classic highlights, and it is great to hear how much you enjoyed each one! Thank you once again for taking the time to share your review! Following along with all your feedback across Slovenia—from city walks, mountain passes, and waterfalls to caves, coastal towns, and boutique wineries—has been an absolute joy. We hope you take home unforgettable memories of your time in the country, and we would love to welcome you back again on your next travel adventure!

A fantastic trip with a...
A fantastic trip with a great mix of 3 sites. The castle is stunning and so unique built in to the cave. The caves are stunning with a train ride through a large part then a 2km walk which was very busy and quite uphill in parts. Slopes, very little stairs so not for people with limited mobility. Then train rude back out. Visually stunning. Piran is a beautiful coastal town, you have lunch at your own expense in your own time. We sat at one of the restaurants on the promenade I've, food was lovely but service was very slow and ate in to our time to wander through and around the town and up to church. Bear this in mind if you want to sit down to eat but still want to walk round and see lots. Our guide Rocco was fantastic, so knowledgeable and very entertaining whilst remaining professional. A decent length drive back allowed for a little nap on the way. We would highly recommend
Response from the operator: Rocco sounds like the ultimate professional! Keeping a group entertained, informed, and on track across a action-packed 3-stop itinerary while leaving time for a quick nap on the drive back is top-tier guiding. Your breakdown of the cave terrain—the 2km uphill walk, gentle slopes over stairs, and crowded paths—is spot-on advice for anyone with mobility concerns. And that tip about coastal dining service in Piran is pure gold; sitting down for a leisurely promenade lunch can easily eat into precious sight-seeing time! Thank you so much for capping off your incredible review series with such thoughtful, practical insights for future travelers. Wishing you many more stunning vistas, great meals, and smooth journeys on all your future adventures!

Excellent review of the...
Excellent review of the areas visited. The guide was extremely nice and I felt like the content was excellent. I was very concerned as the guide drove significantly above the speed limit reaching 144 kilometers per hour when the limit was 80 mph. This place your guests at significant risk. Also I recommend that the guides take time to introduce themselves as well as finding out where the guest are from.
Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing this detailed and balanced feedback! It is wonderful to hear that the guide was exceptionally nice and that the tour content provided an excellent overview of the areas visited. Regarding the speed, if you are converting 80 mph, Slovenia's standard highway speed limit is **130 km/h** (about 81 mph). While 144 km/h is a much smaller margin over 130 km/h than over 80 km/h, passenger safety and peace of mind should always come first, so keeping to steady, relaxed speeds remains crucial for a comfortable journey. Your suggestion about introductions is also spot-on—a quick round of names and origins at the start builds a warm, friendly atmosphere for the whole group right away. Thank you again for offering such constructive input alongside your praise! Your feedback throughout this whole trip review series has been immensely thorough and valuable. Wishing you smooth, safe, and wonderful travels wherever you head next!

Girls day out.
A great experience with Neza as our tour guide. It was all girls in an 8 sitter Van. We visited the Predjama Castle and Postojna Cave. These places are amazing and really recommend it. We ended our trip in Piran. One thing we didn't know that the weather could be so different in Piran. It is cold in Ljubljana but it was so summer weather in Piran. One regret we did not bring our swimming clothes. This was our last activity before leaving Slovenia. We are looking forward of more visits in near future
Response from the operator: Neza will be so thrilled to hear this! An all-girls road trip down to Predjama Castle and Postojna Cave sounds like an absolute blast, and ending the day on the coast in Piran is the ultimate way to wrap up a trip. That coastal microclimate catches so many visitors by surprise! While Ljubljana sits tucked near the mountains with crisp alpine air, Piran gets bathed in warm Mediterranean sunshine—meaning it can easily be full summer weather on the coast while you still need a sweater inland. Next time you come back, a swimsuit in the daypack is definitely an essential! What a wonderful final excursion to conclude your journey across Slovenia. On behalf of the entire team, thank you so much for taking the time to share your entire retrospective with us—from celebrating exceptional guides like Neza, Luka, Barbara, Marina, and Vanessa to offering vital, practical insights on cave walking conditions, weather shifts, and tour logistics. It has been an absolute privilege following along with your adventures. We can't wait to welcome you back to Slovenia in the near future, and we wish you safe, sunny, and beautiful travels wherever your next journey leads!
