    What you'll see and do

    1. Immigration Museum

We will meet outside the Immigration Museum to start our walking tour. We will set the scene for Melbourne's history, including where the first European settlers landed (we will not be going inside the Museum). Our stories include those of the 2 Elizas and other memorable and strong women who lived and flourished in those times. As we walk from the Immigration Museum to Collins St, we will stop to admire some little-known sites including that of Melbourne's first hotel built in 1835.

15 minutes here · Admission not included

    2. Collins Street

On the fabulous Collins Street, I will explain highlights of the Gothic, Classical, and Art Deco architecture and narrate the personal stories of the colorful characters that shaped Melbourne and made it the richest city in the world by 1900. We will stop at 6 historically rich sites, each with their fascinating stories on Collins St.

      60 minutes here

    3. The Block Arcade

"Doing the Block" used to be a favorite pastime between 1870 and the First World War in 1914. You will see three gorgeous historical arcades nearby, including stories of the oldest tearoom, and admire the 2 legendary giants still guarding one of the arcades.

      30 minutes here

    4. Flinders Street Station

As we make our way from the arcades to the fabulous Flinders station, we will pause briefly to admire other iconic buildings and stop for a drink at an iconic pub where I will tell you all about the enigmatic Chloé painting.

      45 minutes here

    5. Fed Square

From Flinders station onwards, our attention turns towards taking professional photographs of you in front of iconic Melbourne backgrounds. (in addition to some we will already have taken along our walk so far). We will time our arrival here around the "golden evening hour" which provides the best light for photography. I will guide you with posing suggestions, and take individual and group photos at multiple vantage points around the area. High-quality cameras and external lights will also be used to ensure you get photographs to remember your Melbourne walk. These will be far superior to what a phone camera can capture. Within 48 hours of the end of the tour, you will receive high-resolution edited images of yourself/ your group to download and keep.

      45 minutes here

    6. Princes Bridge

We will end our tour here, but not before taking more photos of my fabulous guests at this iconic spot overlooking the river, with Melbourne's skyline as a backdrop.

An inspiring walk with a warm personal touch

I would’ve never discovered this little gem of Melbourne without Sandy! The walk was fun, informative, interesting, and had such a relaxed, personal vibe—like exploring the city with an old friend. The beautiful photos were the cherry on top: a lovely gift and the perfect keepsake from a great day. Definitely worth doing—so much easier (and way more fun!) discovering a city with someone who knows all the hidden spots, instead of figuring it all out on your own. Thanks again, Sandy—we’re definitely keeping in touch! 😉

The best of both worlds — engaging and entertaining!

We had so much fun learning about Marvellous Melbourne (or Batmania as we learned it was almost called!). Sandy and Taylah have so much knowledge, are friendly and engaging, and were ready to answer our many questions. We absolutely loved the quiz at the end too! Would recommend this activity to anyone visiting the city. Thank you Sandy and Taylah :)

Pose for professional pics while enjoying Melbourne history walk: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Melbourne.

How much does Pose for professional pics while enjoying Melbourne history walk cost?

    +

Prices start at $75 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Melbourne usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Pose for professional pics while enjoying Melbourne history walk take?

    +

Plan for about 3.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Melbourne is not rushed.

Is Pose for professional pics while enjoying Melbourne history walk worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 65 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Melbourne, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Pose for professional pics while enjoying Melbourne history walk?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Pose for professional pics while enjoying Melbourne history walk suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Pose for professional pics while enjoying Melbourne history walk?

    +

Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Melbourne can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Melbourne and add a light layer if any part of the 3.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Pose for professional pics while enjoying Melbourne history walk start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Melbourne within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Melbourne?

    +

On Outty we rank every Melbourne experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Melbourne: Yarra Valley Wine, Gin, Whisky and Chocolate Tour, Yarra Valley Wine Tour w Exclusive Gin, Cider & Chocolate Tasting, Yarra Valley Wine Tour from Melbourne - Choc, Gin & Good Times. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Melbourne?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Melbourne?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
