The beach is surrounded by rock formations, which extend into the sea and shelter the beach from strong winds. Praia dos Estudantes actually consists of two sides. The northern part is where you arrive on the beach. You can go to the southern part via a direct tunnel. On this part of the beach you can find the famous Roman style bridge. The Roman style bridge connects two rock formations. This bridge is the most unique feature of Estudantes beach. It used to be part of the fortress of Pinhão, which doesn’t exist anymore. This beach can be reached through a footpath that departs from Praia D. Ana and runs along the top of the cliff. The sand is small and embedded between high cliffs, carved in carbonated rocks of warm and intense colors. A huge natural arch rises to the east of the beach, on the other side a viewpoint was built with a staircase that goes down to the sea, allowing you to dive in the salt water without going through the sand. An extensive immersed rocky area invites you to enjoy underwater walks. Although small and very close to the urban fabric of the city of Lagos, the beach is relatively quiet.

You will get a sea perspective from one of the most popular beaches of Lagos. Don't forget to make a photograph! Praia Dona Ana is in the area known as Costa D 'Oiro, name due to the yellow / golden color of the rocks that surround this beach and which is the largest among the several beaches of unique beauty, protected from the wind and calm and clear waters, located between the city port to the Ponta da Piedade lighthouse. The proximity of Lagos makes it popular in the summer. The rocks on the beach provide shade for visitors. The sea is calm and bathers usually swim to the base of the cliffs and sharp rocks that emerge from the water. History: The beach was named after the nun Ana, who lived in the nunnery of Lagos. During World War I, soldiers invaded the convent and murdered all the nuns, with the exception of D. Ana, who had access to a tunnel between the convent and the beach. D. Ana fled through the tunnel and was the only one who survived.

Praia do Camilo
Praia do Camilo is the most beautiful beach in the municipality of Lagos and is accessed through a wooden staircase. The cliff that borders the beach offers a fabulous panoramic view of the coastline between Lagos and Albufeira. This beach is divided by a huge rock formation that you can walk through an excavated tunnel, where you can see a large number of shells embedded in the rock. Take your time and enjoy the sea view of the most beautiful beach of Lagos and perhaps the of the world! Oh, and don't forget to make a photo!

Hidden by hills and rock formations, Barranco do Martinho Beach is another one of the beaches in Lagos that escape the radar of hordes of tourists. Its calm waters create the illusion that one is facing a lagoon. The sand color is white and gives us the impression that we are the first to step on it.

Ponta da Piedade
The cliffs of the Ponta da Piedade headland is one of the finest natural features of the Algarve. This dramatic limestone coastline is formed of sea pillars, fragile rock arches and hidden grottos, all of which have been chiselled-out by savage winter storms. The Ponta da Piedade is a bleak and windswept headland, and the beauty of the region is only discovered on descending the cliffs, where the exposed cliffs reveal their golden colour, and the turquoise sea waters lap precariously balanced rock formations. The headland can only be described as stunning. Come along with us and navigate along this wonderful coast and enjoy the beautiful rock formations, the fantastic beaches, the small coves and the sea caves known worldwide for their unique features. Relax and marvel at the sunset and its mystical colors. Take your time and make beautiful pictures. Breathtaking experience!
Our Viator boat tour with Rui and Lagos Boat Tours crew was one of the absolute highlights of our trip. Rui was an incredible storyteller with wonderful knowledge of the history of the area, which made the entire experience even more meaningful and memorable. He was also an exceptionally skilled boatman, expertly guiding us through the caves and bringing us amazingly close to the rock formations in a way that felt both exciting and safe. The scenery was breathtaking, and the entire crew was friendly, professional, and attentive throughout the tour. It truly was a wonderful experience that we will never forget. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the area. One tip: bring a light jacket, and if you are sitting in the front row, be prepared to possibly get wet — a towel may definitely come in handy!
Response from the operator: Hi Alicia! Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us a nice review! We are so glad to hear that you enjoyed your experience with us and we would love to have you back soon. Thank you also for choosing my small local company, Lagos Boat Tours. Best regards. Great!
Wonderful experience seeing the rock formations close and personal. Went through a few caves, saw natural skylights, saw all the beaches on the way to ponta da piedade, heard history, saw sunset. Take a jacket, cold and windy when speeding back.

Gorgeous views
We absolutely loved the tour! We got to explore so many caves from unique angles and really appreciated seeing them from a different perspective. Just a heads-up—definitely bring a windbreaker, as it gets windy out there!

How long does Ponta da Piedade Sunset Tour in Lagos, Algarve take?
+

Is Ponta da Piedade Sunset Tour in Lagos, Algarve worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 78 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 101 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Lagos, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Is Ponta da Piedade Sunset Tour in Lagos, Algarve suitable for kids and families?
+

How far in advance should I book Ponta da Piedade Sunset Tour in Lagos, Algarve?
+
Around 35 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Lagos can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Lagos and add a light layer if any part of the 1.3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

+
On Outty we rank every Lagos experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Small-Group Kayak Tour: Magic of Ponta da Piedade, Lagos, From Lagos: Kayak Tour of Ponta da Piedade Caves by Boat, Boat trip to the grottos at Ponta da Piedade, Lagos. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Lagos?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Lagos?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
