    Great tour

This was a great tour. Unbelievable sights. We had a very nice air conditioned van for our family of 9. Our guide was terrific. Very knowledgeable very friendly and even though it was very hot he found ways to move us through the crowds to enjoy the ruins. I wish I could recall his name he was great.

    Our small private tour...

Our small private tour was with Andreas. He was fantastic- we were there during a heat wave- he did everything he could do to make it great for us. Wonderful, very educational tour. One of our favorite activities of the trip- WELL WORTH the additional expense of not being with a crowd. Very easy to understand and HIGHLY knowledgeable. We were a family of 6 and did 10K steps before exiting Pompei. Wear sneakers and bring water.

Andrea and Spider-Man for a win

We actually moved to another tour that included Positano and sorrento on the way to Pompeii! This was so much fun. Got to see much more than we bargained for and Andrea our guide was amazing, he usually does on the Pompeii portion, but made the best food and shopping suggestions available. He in fact showed up at most for himself. Was not blah blah blah

    +

That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 3 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Salerno, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Is Pompeii with an Archaeologist Shared or Private Tour from Salerno suitable for kids and families?

    +

How far in advance should I book Pompeii with an Archaeologist Shared or Private Tour from Salerno?

    +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Salerno can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Salerno and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

    +

What are the best things to do in Salerno?

    +

On Outty we rank every Salerno experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Full-Day Amalfi Coast Experience from Sorrento, Naples or Salerno, Small-Group Amalfi Coast Day Cruise from Positano, Amalfi Coast Boat tour Small Group. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Salerno?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Salerno?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
