    Very busy but enjoyable

Had to change our trip as not enough people on 1/2 day to Pompeii, so we ended up on the trip to Pompeii and Vesuvius. Picked up from our hotel by a very helpful driver Antonio. Pompeii is a very big site to see in a couple of hours, didn't see as much as we would have liked, but enjoyed the experience. Off to Vesuvius on 2nd part of our trip a bit of a climb in 30deg but we'll worth it for the views and the fact it is still an active volcano!

    Rough drivers

Transportation was punctual But drivers were always tailgating, morning driver yelled to other drivers after driving intensely close to them in a very aggressive manner, could easily be improved.

Public Transit and a ticket for the wrong enterance

Pompeii was awesome but we had many issues with this excursion. We were given one meeting point in the app when booked, but had I not checked the “contact the operator” space I would have never found our actual tickets or the supposed meeting place which was also wrong even though they tried to make it easy with a maps link (from Italian google…also frustrating) We had to get directions from another travel place. The transit was public and not chartered as I was expecting it would be. The skip the line tickets were for a different entrance to Pompeii than where the bus stops, which if you don’t speak Italian can be difficult to figure out. Departure time on the booking is 1:30 but it was actually 1:20, but since it’s public transit we had to just grab the next bus at 2:20 since we showed up at 1:25 for the 1:30 bus. This says it is a half day tour, but since you basically just get a round trip public transit ticket you can return anytime that works for you any hour on the :20 of every hour. The skip the line ticket was a waste because we spent easily the amount of time needed to get a ticket trying to find the right enterance for our skip the line ticket. You could save and get better directions just taking public transit at the port terminal then waiting in line for your ticket. This wasn’t any more convenient than getting a ticket in the line at Pompeii. I’m giving it three stars because to their credit the agency was responsive when I was trying to figure this all out and even tried to call me but I missed it. It just WAS NOT EASY and required a lot of questions to be answered. Not a low stress booking so keep this in mind.

    Great ride, but I would...

Great ride, but I would recommend a guide as it's easy to get turned around in the city. I didn't realize how big it was. Worth seeing. Thanks

Pompeii Tour from Naples by Mercedes Minivan with Guide: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Naples.

How much does Pompeii Tour from Naples by Mercedes Minivan with Guide cost?

    +

Prices start at $96 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Naples usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Pompeii Tour from Naples by Mercedes Minivan with Guide take?

    +

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Naples is not rushed.

Is Pompeii Tour from Naples by Mercedes Minivan with Guide worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 54 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.8/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Naples, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Pompeii Tour from Naples by Mercedes Minivan with Guide?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Pompeii Tour from Naples by Mercedes Minivan with Guide suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Pompeii Tour from Naples by Mercedes Minivan with Guide?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Naples can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Naples and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Pompeii Tour from Naples by Mercedes Minivan with Guide start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Naples within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Naples?

    +

On Outty we rank every Naples experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Full Day Private Amalfi Coast Tour from Sorrento/Naples/Salerno, Caserta Royal Palace & Gardens Small Group Tour with Shuttle, Naples Pizza and Tiramisu Cooking Class. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Naples?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Naples?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
