    Rainy day

This tour should have been canceled due to weather. The time was changed but they never specified that the route would be. We couldn't see anything due to the rain. We basically rode the bus in the rain..

Response from the operator: Dear Donita_A, We sincerely apologize that the weather affected your experience. Unfortunately, weather conditions are outside of our control, and we understand how disappointing it must have been to spend the tour in heavy rain with limited visibility. We’re very sorry the experience did not meet your expectations and appreciate your understanding.

    The entire experience was...

The entire experience was chaotic and not well put together. Patricia wasn’t a very good tour guide. She didn’t really give us much information and would get frustrated very easily. We had two stopping points that were tourist traps, which were very unnecessary. It was an assemble line to try to force you to buy something. They just dropped you off at the view points and gave us limited time to go explore. And when they say be back on time and leave you, they will. The beginning of the tour there was a hiccup and the bus got caught behind a truck that broke down. It delayed us for an hour which was no one’s fault. There were two men that got out of the bus to redirect traffic so our tour bus could back out. Well our last stop the two men were running a little late. We waited the 5 min and the bus took off. They tried calling the tour guide several times and she didn’t answer because they didn’t follow using the WhatsApp rule. I think there was a language barrier for them there. I just think it was awful to leave the men that helped us stranded 3 hours away from our start point. I don’t think I would book a tour with them given the lack of care from tour guides and how nothing had a sense of order.

Response from the operator: Dear Smita_G, We sincerely apologize for the issues you experienced during the tour and for the frustration and disappointment this caused. We understand how upsetting this must have been and truly appreciate you taking the time to share such detailed feedback. We will pass your comments on to the team so we can improve the organization and communication of our tours.

    Long and Very Interesting Day

This was a very long, but interesting day. Valentina, our coach guide was informative and kept us updated as the day progressed. Our guide at Pompei, Enzo, was brilliant and brought the place to life. We expected the site to be interesting but were blown away by the size and condition of it. Enzo's explanation of the technologies, buildings and the life of the people was outstanding. Sorento was very pretty, as where the views on the way. As our trip was on the 1st Sunday of the month, when entry to all historical sites is free, the company provided us with a lunch and limoncello factory visit as extras. The only downside was the traffic which was very heavy indeed and added about an hour to the trip. Of course, this was outside the control of the Company or bus driver!

Pompeii, Sorrento & Amalfi Coast Day Trip from Rome: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Rome.

How much does Pompeii, Sorrento & Amalfi Coast Day Trip from Rome cost?

    +

Prices start at $79 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Rome usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Pompeii, Sorrento & Amalfi Coast Day Trip from Rome take?

    +

Plan for about 12 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Rome is not rushed.

Is Pompeii, Sorrento & Amalfi Coast Day Trip from Rome worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 86 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 2,210 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Rome, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Pompeii, Sorrento & Amalfi Coast Day Trip from Rome?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Pompeii, Sorrento & Amalfi Coast Day Trip from Rome suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 12-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Pompeii, Sorrento & Amalfi Coast Day Trip from Rome?

    +

Around 774 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Rome can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Rome and add a light layer if any part of the 12-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Pompeii, Sorrento & Amalfi Coast Day Trip from Rome start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Rome within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Rome?

    +

Rome runs on skip-the-line access. The Colosseum underground, the Vatican before opening, and the catacombs south of the walls all require a licensed operator, and the price gap between the good ones and the rest is smaller than you would expect. We rank by guide credentials, group size and how reliably the promised access actually materialises. On Outty we rank every Rome experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Rome Pizza & Gelato Class with Wine by Cooking Italy, Rome [4in1] Pasta Making_Tiramisù_Wine Tasting_Secret Cellar, Rome Pasta and Tiramisu Class: Ravioli, Fettuccine & Fine Wine 5*. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Rome?

    +

April, May, September and October. August is hot and half the city is shut. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Rome?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
