    These guys are for real!

My friend and I got a crazy idea on our recent trip to Italy that we should check out the Amalfi coast and Pompeii - in a day. Italy on a Budget was one of very few providers that offered this trip at a price we could afford. When our excursion did not meet the minimum “people” requirement, they scrambled to still make this trip happen for us. AND at the price they quoted. Pretty magical. I am super impressed at the lengths they went to: their communication was responsive and language - we speak English only - was no problem. Please consider this group when looking at tours. They are very customer-service driven. Definitely would use them again.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your fantastic review! We're thrilled to hear that you and your friend had such a great experience with us on your Amalfi Coast and Pompeii Tour. It’s wonderful that we could make the trip happen, even when it didn’t meet the minimum requirement, and we’re so glad you appreciated our efforts to keep it at the quoted price. Your kind words about our customer service and communication mean a lot to us! We’d love to welcome you back for more adventures in the future with Italy On A Budget Tours. Thanks again for choosing us and for your recommendation!

You won't regret taking this tour.

It is a great tour. You cover so much in a day. The high-speed train gets you from Rome to Naples in just over an hour. Pompeii is an amazing site to see. Make sure you get a guide. Our guide, Nino, was so informative and explained everything. From there, our driver Vinny, who missed his calling as a professional race car driver, took us up the coast to Positano and Amalfi. He also suggested a restaurant along the way with the best view of any restaurant we have ever eaten at. After visiting Amalfi, Vinny drove through Ravallo and some other small towns. Eventually, back to the station and on the high speed back to Rome. This whole trip was fantastic. The customer service was excellent and extremely helpful all throughout the experience. This is a great day tour from Rome.

Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your fantastic experience! It sounds like our day tour from Rome to Naples, Pompeii, Positano, and Amalfi was truly unforgettable. We're glad that you appreciated Nino, Vinny, and customer service throughout your experience. It was our pleasure to provide you with such a great day tour, and we hope to welcome you back for more adventures in the future! 🚄🏛️🏖️😊

    Great trip

We had a great day! The driving guide was Vincenzo and he was very professional, informative, engaged with excellent driving skills. And this drive requires skill!! We had nice breaks in Pompeii, Positano, Sorrento (with free degustation of limoncello liqueur) and Almafi. Small tour van was ideal with access to highlight locations. Highly recommend this tour.

Response from the operator: Thanks for sharing your experience of our Amalfi and Positano day tour! Vincenzo sounds like a gem. We're glad you enjoyed the tour and the tastings along the way. Hope to have you join us for another adventure soon!

Pompeii, Positano & Amalfi Coast Small Group Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Naples.

How much does Pompeii, Positano & Amalfi Coast Small Group Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $199 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Naples usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Pompeii, Positano & Amalfi Coast Small Group Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Naples is not rushed.

Is Pompeii, Positano & Amalfi Coast Small Group Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 57 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 3 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Naples, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Pompeii, Positano & Amalfi Coast Small Group Tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Pompeii, Positano & Amalfi Coast Small Group Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 10-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Pompeii, Positano & Amalfi Coast Small Group Tour?

    +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Naples can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Naples and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Pompeii, Positano & Amalfi Coast Small Group Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Naples within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Naples?

    +

On Outty we rank every Naples experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Full Day Private Amalfi Coast Tour from Sorrento/Naples/Salerno, Caserta Royal Palace & Gardens Small Group Tour with Shuttle, Naples Pizza and Tiramisu Cooking Class. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Naples?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Naples?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
