Brilliant tour (Ilaria was amazing!)
Absolutely brilliant tour with Ilaria as our guide. She spoke fantastic English and her knowledge of the site was extensive. Communication before the trip was so good. Must also add that she went above and beyond to help me secure a wheelchair and transport at late notice for my son. Cannot recommend her more highly. Thanks!

Pompeii and Herculaneum - must see places!
Ilaria was absolutely amazing. She was very patient with me as we arranged and organized our private visit to Pompeii and Herculaneum. We had a connection from the get go! Ilaria was great; she was knowledgeable and interesting. Having a guide at these historic sites is so important; Ilaria set the stage for us as we visited both places. Her explanations were thorough. Her English is impeccable! I highly recommend doing both of these historical sites on the same day so that you can compare and contrast the differences and the similarities. My family is still talking about Ilaria; she is passionate about Pompeii and Herculaneum and she is definitely an expert! Thanks Ilaria for an awesome day!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We are truly delighted to hear that your experience with Ilaria exceeded your expectations. It means a lot to know that the connection started even before your arrival and that she was able to assist you with every change to your booking. We believe that great service begins long before the tour itself, and we're happy that this made a difference. Your kind words about Ilaria's knowledge, engaging storytelling, and excellent English are greatly appreciated. Pompeii and Herculaneum are extraordinary archaeological sites, and having a passionate guide helps bring their history back to life. We are thrilled that her explanations made such a lasting impression on you and your family. We will be sure to share your lovely comments with Ilaria—they will mean a great deal to her. Thank you once again for choosing Sorrento Tour Guide. We hope to welcome you and your family back to Italy for another unforgettable experience! Warm regards,

Great choice
The most beautiful tour of Pompeii I have ever done. I made several over the years but I wanted to bring a dear foreign friend and I did not regret the choice. This tour is sensational. Seriousness, competence, sympathy and originality. Very good!

Terrific tours and transfers
My wife and I had a wonderful experience with Sorrento Tour Guide! They helped us transfer between Rome and Positano and took us on an amazing tour of Pompeii and Herculaneum. Everyone, from Antonio the co-owner who drove us to Positano to our wonderful and informed guide, was absolutely terrific. The tour included terrific information, a private and safe feel, and a wonderful stop for lunch at a beautiful winery at the foothills of Mount Vesuvius. I had always wanted to travel to Pompeii and see this site, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Wonderful!

Why this scores 52
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Pompeii & Herculaneum Private Transfer: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Naples.
How much does Pompeii & Herculaneum Private Transfer cost?
+
Prices start at $480 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Naples usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Pompeii & Herculaneum Private Transfer take?
+
Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Naples is not rushed.
Is Pompeii & Herculaneum Private Transfer worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 52 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Naples, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Pompeii & Herculaneum Private Transfer?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Pompeii & Herculaneum Private Transfer suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Pompeii & Herculaneum Private Transfer?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Naples can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Naples and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Pompeii & Herculaneum Private Transfer start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Naples within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Naples?
+
On Outty we rank every Naples experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Full Day Private Amalfi Coast Tour from Sorrento/Naples/Salerno, Caserta Royal Palace & Gardens Small Group Tour with Shuttle, Naples Pizza and Tiramisu Cooking Class. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Naples?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Naples?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
