Pompeii Tour – Could Have Been Better
We visited as a family of 6, 2 adults and teens aged 13–18. We had a good day trip to Pompeii and our driver was excellent — very friendly, knowledgeable and informative throughout the journey. The guide was clear, but I felt the tour could have been much more engaging. There was no real introduction to Pompeii or the eruption, and a short video or reconstruction at the start would have helped, especially for teenagers. We saw around five victims’ casts, but there was very little focus on the individual people and their stories. There was much more emphasis on the brothels, whereas we would have preferred to learn about everyday life and the human impact of the eruption. We also weren’t told about the new casts display or given suggestions about what to explore during our hour of free time. Instead, we were simply walked towards the exit. There were also some inconsistencies in the historical information, including the eruption being described as occurring in both August and October and bombing in 1943/44. Pompeii itself was fascinating and our driver was fantastic, but the guided experience could have been much more informative and engaging.

Pompeii feedback - guided tour was disappointing
Transport to Pompeii was good with adequate rest break However… upon arrival - earpieces weren’t very good quality, signal was very intermittent, the tour guides English was very difficult to understand, spoke too quickly and not clearly. Most of us ended up removing earpieces and just followed the group without any knowledge of what we were looking at. Hurried through the tour and no time to visit any gift shops - despite several complaints around the earpieces and lack of understanding- nothing was done to rectify the issue We didn’t get to see the main arena also which is one of the main sights on Pompeii All in all - great transport, amazing place to visit but a very poor tour experience

We loved our guide Ira! He was very knowledgeable and fun:) I wasn't sure about taking the trip to Pompeii, but it exceeded my expectations and was absolutely worth it!

Ok but couldn’t keep up with the fast pace
Travelling with parents in their 80s. Couldn’t keep up with the fast pace of the walk so we dropped off and took it at our own pace. Also we asked for a toilet break but we had to walk a long way (past 1 toilet - told not to use it) before we had the first toilet break after getting off the coach trip.

Wonderful bus tour and guided tour at Pompeii. I would recommend doing your own thing for lunch bc Vesuvio is gross
The bus ride/driver, Roman, was amazing. Our tour guide with City Wonders was amazing. Our experience at the restaurant, Vesuvio, was absolutely horrible. They made us wait so long before even acknowledging us, that we were close to missing our bus take off. Then on top of that, they didn’t include a salad and didn’t give us a choice between pizza and spaghetti—they just started bringing pizzas. The tables that got there just before us all had nice salads and their choice of pizza or spaghetti, then dessert. And on top of it—they tried to overcharge us and had such a rude, disrespectful attitude on top of it. It felt dirty, rushed, and overall disrespectful.
