Adorable little shop and amazing host!

It was our last full day in Athens and we were looking for something to do. My husband loves going to distilleries and even though they don’t distill there, Polykala has a lovely tasting room there. Nina, the founders great grandfather (I think)? Was a lovely host that let us try many samples. We bought a couple bottle to use for the rest of our trip and a couple to take home. They were all delicious!

    Fantastic!

What a fantastic way to spend an hour! Nina was so friendly and knowledgeable and we learnt so much and generally had a wonderful time. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this experience to others!

Super fun and must do for Athens

Amazing experience and a must do if you visit Athens! Nina is so warm and kind. Her family's history with this distillery is what makes this experience so special. The liquors were delicious and we brought home a few. The big bottles are the best value and make luxury gifts so make sure you have enough space in your suitcase. There is something for every taste and preference. Nina will also guide you to find your perfect drink. My only regret was not getting a bottle of their coffee liqueur but I'll have to go back for it. This is a perfect experience for groups, couples or even solo travelers. Don't forget to write in their guest book!

Take a break from the ruins

Spent February in Athens. After days of looking at ruins (just another pile of rocks - time for a change) visited Polykala. Small shop with very informative hostess (grand-daughter of founder). Wide assortment of liquors from floral to chocolate. All made from local ingredients. Variety of sizes. I settled on small box of 3. Perfect unusual enjoyable souvenir.

Response from the operator: Thank you Frances!

    Wasn’t even open

We booked. We walked and navigated to arrive, only for it to be closed. Why advertise, if you’re not even open?

Response from the operator: Hello again. I have answered on another platform and directly to you as well. We are really sorry for the inconvenience. It's a Greek extra bank holiday for the stores and the system was not upadted. We have refunded you.

Polykala Distillery: 128 years of history & liqueur tasting.: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Athens.

How much does Polykala Distillery: 128 years of history & liqueur tasting. cost?

    +

Prices start at $14 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Athens usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Polykala Distillery: 128 years of history & liqueur tasting. take?

    +

Plan for about 0.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Athens is not rushed.

Is Polykala Distillery: 128 years of history & liqueur tasting. worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 65 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 27 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Athens, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Polykala Distillery: 128 years of history & liqueur tasting.?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Polykala Distillery: 128 years of history & liqueur tasting. suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 0.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Polykala Distillery: 128 years of history & liqueur tasting.?

    +

Around 9 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Athens can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Athens and add a light layer if any part of the 0.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Polykala Distillery: 128 years of history & liqueur tasting. start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Athens within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Athens?

    +

On Outty we rank every Athens experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Athens Small Group E-Bike Tour, Small Group Greek Traditional Food Tour in Athens 20+ Tastings, Athens Scenic Bike Tour with Regular or Electric Bike + Acropolis. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Athens?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Athens?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
