Really a let down for what we paid
My great aunt who is 80 booked the tickets, and the website apparently included a 20% tip and trip insurance. This added about $23 onto our tickets. I know more and more websites are doing similar these days, but it just felt gross and predatory. Still we went in with an open mind and unfortunately it was not an enjoyable experience. There was a group of absolutely out of control children, who were allowed to run around the entire boat, get in peoples personal space, and play on the stairs. Obviously the parents should have done something, but at some point I feel the crew should have stepped in as it was completely unfair to everyone else. Also the main cabin where you had to line up for ice cream was so cramped and hard to navigate, and the lights on the outside of the boat kept flicking on and off. Those things could have been overlooked though, and it’s sad a few people were allowed to act like that. To give credit where it’s due, the scenery was lovely, ice cream was good, and the staff seemed kind and enthusiastic. I didn’t want to give them a negative review but for what we paid it was just such a negative experience.

We take every review seriously, which is why we reviewed our onboard camera footage after reading your comments. Unfortunately, several of the claims made in your review are simply not accurate. Our vessel is maintained to a very high standard, and there were no flickering lights or maintenance issues during your cruise. Safety is our top priority, especially regarding children. Guests are instructed during boarding and throughout the cruise that running and playing on the stairs is not permitted. Our footage does not support the claim that children were allowed to play on the stairs unchecked. Regarding pricing, we do not add hidden or “predatory” fees. Optional items such as gratuities and trip protection must be actively selected during the booking process—they are not automatically added by us. This is a family-focused cruise designed for guests of all ages. Families and children are an expected part of the experience, and while we always expect parents to supervise their children, the atmosphere is intentionally geared toward families. Our ice cream service is designed to move efficiently for all guests, and there were no unusual delays that evening. We’re glad you enjoyed the scenery, the ice cream, and found our crew to be kind and enthusiastic. However, it’s important that future guests know this review does not accurately reflect what occurred onboard. With over 200 five-star reviews—including multiple five-star reviews from guests who sailed that very evening—we’re confident our track record speaks for itself.
