Beautiful park, but skip the organized tour and drive yourself

Beautiful park, but skip the organized tour and drive yourself. Plitvice Lakes National Park is absolutely stunning and undeniably a beautiful place to visit. However, booking it as a day trip left us feeling incredibly rushed. Because of the tight itinerary, we completely missed out on walking around the lower lakes. If we visit Croatia again, we will definitely hire a car and drive there ourselves. Having your own transport is the only way to truly set your own pace and properly enjoy everything this magical park has to offer.

    Great nature walk!

The views were amazingly beautiful. Walks and facilities were well organized. Guide had excellent knowledge of history area, and his English was very good.

    Beautiful lakes

Incredible national park! Beautiful and well preserved, at least to my non-expert eyes. Guide was knowledgeable and helped us take a route that helped avoid larger crowds. Took photos for us, and also let us walk ahead/on our own most of the walk and that was nice just to be more part of the nature there. There were definitely some crowds in the park in areas, so a few traffic jams but nothing terrible. Still got beautiful photos and memories. I love to learn about new things so could have enjoyed even more facts and science and history from the guide, what they shared was interesting, just want more of it! Driver was safe and prompt. Would recommend!

    Awesome Day in the Park

The trip up and back in the bus was very comfortable once we got started. We were late leaving because of late passengers arrivals. The scenery at the National Park were wonderful. Our guide walked us by many beautiful water falls. They were spectacular because of the recent rainfalls. Alaina was our guide and she was very h knowledgeable, funny and efficient. On the was home we stopped at a great restaurant. The food was amazing and the service efficient. A bit rushed but understandable since it is a stop on route to our final destination. Would highly recommend this tour.

Exciting day trip out of split

The waterfalls are spectacular- I have never seen such clear waters with fish swimming in it. So clear you can see the floor. Cool waters in slightly lower temperatures. Only downside is long queues for loos and hundreds of people doing the same trip. Our tour guide was brilliant!!

Plitvice Lakes National Park Day Trip from Omiš: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Split.

How much does Plitvice Lakes National Park Day Trip from Omiš cost?

    +

Prices start at $91 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Split usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Plitvice Lakes National Park Day Trip from Omiš take?

    +

Plan for about 12 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Split is not rushed.

Is Plitvice Lakes National Park Day Trip from Omiš worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 72 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 27 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Split, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Plitvice Lakes National Park Day Trip from Omiš?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Plitvice Lakes National Park Day Trip from Omiš suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 12-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Plitvice Lakes National Park Day Trip from Omiš?

    +

Around 9 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Split can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Split and add a light layer if any part of the 12-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Plitvice Lakes National Park Day Trip from Omiš start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Split within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Split?

    +

On Outty we rank every Split experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Split Small-Group Walking Tour with a Magister of History, Split Walking Tour with Professor of History, From Split: Krka Waterfalls, Food & Wine Tasting Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Split?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Split?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
