Mr. Shyam Bir Singh, Exemplary Agra, India, Tour Guide

This is a rave review for the tour guide services provided by Mr. Shyam Bir Singh throughout the city of Agra in northern India on April 15-16, 2024. He does not use the title of Doctor though he clearly earned his doctorate in history as evidenced by his encyclopedic knowledge especially in our visits to the “Baby Taj”, Fort Agra and the magnificent Taj Mahal which we saw at sunset and sunrise. Not only is his knowledge vast, he has exceptional relationships with very many people giving us unbelievable access to these historical sites. Our impromptu group of nine international travelers will be ever grateful for Shyam's care and educational experiences in a mere 24 hours. Our visits to all three sites were phenomenal and the sunrise tour of the Taj Mahal made my eyes leak with emotional happiness. I will be eternally grateful for having met Shyam. We wish him and his all the very best in life. Signed Rafael on behalf of Mitzi, Jennifer, William, Mindy, Roy, Shirley, Bill and Diane. A special thanks to Jennifer for all she did to make this excursion possible.

We had the most amazing time in Agra thanks to SAM Tours and Travels

We organised a custom made tour of Agra, to suit our requirements, from the UK through emails with Sunny at SAM Tours. We were collected from Delhi airport and taken directly to Agra. It was a very good journey with our driver, Tikam. Sunny put together a very varied tour for us over three days, the highlight of this was a sunrise visit to the Taj Mahal. We were also taken to other ancient monuments in the Agra area of which there are many. Our guide was PK, who spoke excellent English and was very knowledgeable on the history of Agra. All these people made our visit to Agra an amazing experience and we would have no hesitation in recommending Sunny at SAM Tours and his team to be your guides in Agra.

2 days visit to Delhi and Agra

My favourite part was the well organized and onetime, friendly and courteous service by the team. Bharat was very easy to discuss with our changes in plans Our trip 2 day _ chennai to Delhi _ a day in Agra and back Delhi to Bangalore. We took a car with driver and tour guide for a day trip in Agra _ Taj mahal, Agra Fort and chota taj . On the day of arrival, as soon as we got off at the airport our driver Mr Prem was there with a placard .he had waited a while coz we got a bit delayed .he was very friendly and.courteous through the whole trip. From the airport, We only drove around the parliament, India gate and aqutub minar on 1st day. Stayed overnight in hotel Next day early morning by 6 ( 530 would have been ideal) we went to Taj ..our Tour guide Mr Pawan Yadav was AWESOME . he spoke very fluent English ( was important for our teenage boys speaking american english) Mr Pawan gave us good history and answered questions about Taj , agra Fort and mughal empire. Taj took us about 2 hrs ,we immediately went to the fort and then went for breakfast, visited the chota taj..refreshed , checked out ,did a little shopping drove back to Delhi with enough time to board flight to Bangalore. Mr bharat visited us after breakfast. He was very courteous and friendly. Our short trip and our first trip to agra was very relaxed and smooth on schedule and a very fond , pleasant experience. . Thank you S.A.M travels_ Mr Bharat, Mr Prem and Mr Yadav . Great Job. Kudos to you.

Response from the operator: Thanks for your kind appreciation. we look forward to serve you again. Thanks and Regards.

    Superb!

I organised to visit the Taj Mahal at sunrise with Bharat. He was very professional to deal with via both email and whatsapp. He suggested returning to the hotel after the Taj Mahal for breakfast, and then visit Agra Fort and Baby Taj. This was great advice, and our tour guide Nadeem helped make it an unforgettable morning. Nadeem provided interesting information and fantastic photo tips. Highly recommended!

Response from the operator: Thanks a lot for kind appreciation.

Plan Your Agra Tour your Own Way: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Agra.

How much does Plan Your Agra Tour your Own Way cost?

    +

Prices start at $162 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Agra usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Plan Your Agra Tour your Own Way take?

    +

Plan for about 12 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Agra is not rushed.

Is Plan Your Agra Tour your Own Way worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 61 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Agra, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Plan Your Agra Tour your Own Way?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Plan Your Agra Tour your Own Way suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 12-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Plan Your Agra Tour your Own Way?

    +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Agra can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Agra and add a light layer if any part of the 12-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Plan Your Agra Tour your Own Way start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Agra within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Agra?

    +

On Outty we rank every Agra experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Private Taj Mahal Sunrise and Agra Fort Skip the Line Tour, Taj Mahal Skip-the-Line Guided Tour with Multiple Options, Agra: Private Sunrise Taj Mahal & Agra City Tour":. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Agra?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Agra?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
