About this experience
An exclusive experience, learn to make a real Italian pizza from a master pizza maker. The original pizza, made with the best ingredients, as the buffalo mozzarella or the sicilian cherry tomato, and following tradition. Have fun sticking your finger in the dough, our master pizza maker, an industry expert, will tell you about the history and tradition of the pizza, its secrets, its processing, the choice of ingredients, the flour used. Together you will have the opportunity to make the traditional pizzas such as the Margherita and the Sicilian pizza called sfincione. After putting the pizzas made with your own hands in a wooden oven, you will follow closely the cooking process, then take them out of the oven and finally relax with your pizza and a glass of Sicilian wine. Our pizza chef is known throughout the city for the quality of his pizzas and for being the first pizza-maker to invent pizzas made with new recipes that use typical Sicilian ingredients.

Must do in Palermo!
Giorgio was a wonderful tour guide on this fun experience!! He told us the history of pizza and Palermo. It was very interesting when the pizza master, Cesare, came to explain to us his craft for his pizzas. It was really fun to customize the pizzas and watch him throw it into the oven. Drinking some wine and dining on pizza with Giorgio was a treat as he also answered our questions about Palermo/his personal experiences growing up and living there. Highly recommend this experience!
Response from the operator: Thank you very much for your review, it was great to have you here. Wish you the best!

Such a great experience! Highly recommend
What a fabulous time we had! Our guide Giorgio was so friendly and enthusiastic. He taught us the history of pizza and he was so interesting. We loved this class cause it was in a real restaurant taught by pizza makers rather than a classroom situation. The owner George was so friendly and gave us a lot of his time and his staff knew their stuff! We got to choose and make our own pizzas after learning the processes. We learnt so much and had a fantastic time. We then got to eat our pizzas and have a glass of vino. Thank you for this wonderful experience. Highly recommend.
Response from the operator: Thank you very much, I am so glad you have enjoyed our time together and the pizza we made together! Wish you the best! Giorgio

Unforgettable Family Experience
Honestly, stop looking for any other tours: you've found the one that you need to take when you're in Palermo! Giorgio was an excellent guide who is incredibly knowledgeable in the pizza-making process, history, and culture. We started out the tour discussing some of those aspects, and then went to the restaurant where we'd be making our very own traditional pizzas. The master pizza-maker helped us go from dough to final dinner, and taught us all the steps in between for an excellent meal! I should also add, this was on a trip for my mother-in-law's 65th birthday, and her family is from Palermo. She had some information about where her great-grandmother had lived, and Giorgio was familiar with the area and provided us some great insight to do further exploring to find her family's roots. This was a wonderful experience for our family. I cannot recommend it enough!

Book it
Booked this because my boyfriend loves making pizza and wanted to celebrate his 40th birthday in Italy in a really unique way. This way by far the most unique experience we did and one of the top things he has ever done. Incredible knowledge on food, Italy, and of course pizza. Felt like we were on a pizza documentary show was incredible!!

Why this scores 63
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Pizza cooking class in real Pizzeria with Pizza chef & Tour guide: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Palermo.
How much does Pizza cooking class in real Pizzeria with Pizza chef & Tour guide cost?
+
Prices start at $75 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Palermo usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Pizza cooking class in real Pizzeria with Pizza chef & Tour guide take?
+
Plan for about 2.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Palermo is not rushed.
Is Pizza cooking class in real Pizzeria with Pizza chef & Tour guide worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 63 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Palermo, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Pizza cooking class in real Pizzeria with Pizza chef & Tour guide?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Pizza cooking class in real Pizzeria with Pizza chef & Tour guide suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Pizza cooking class in real Pizzeria with Pizza chef & Tour guide?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Palermo can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Palermo and add a light layer if any part of the 2.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Pizza cooking class in real Pizzeria with Pizza chef & Tour guide start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Palermo within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Palermo?
+
On Outty we rank every Palermo experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Palermo Pizza & Gelato Cooking Class with Meal & Wine, Palermo Food Tour: 10+ Tastings of Arancini, Cannoli, Wine & More, Palermo Sicilian Street Food Tour: Small Group by Do Eat Better. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Palermo?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Palermo?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
