    Under the Tuscan Spell

From the time I was picked me up at Pisa Airport on September 22 until he delivered me safely to my hotel in Florence on September 26, my experience with TuscanVibes was exceptional. I was traveling solo and wanted more than the typical Tuscany sightseeing itinerary. I wanted to experience the region rather than simply check places off a list. Simone understood that immediately. Having the same private driver throughout my stay made everything effortless, and his knowledge of the area turned each day into something special. Our first full day took us to Pisa and Lucca, including a wonderful lunch where I had ravioli di cinghiale—exactly the kind of local experience I had hoped to find. The next day was Cinque Terre, and once again Simone made the day about the experience rather than simply getting from one famous village to another. A restaurant reached by boat taxi, fresh mussels, beautiful scenery and the Mediterranean—it was one of those days you don’t forget. Our final touring day included Volterra, San Gimignano and a boutique wine tasting at Corbucci. It was a perfect combination of Tuscan countryside, small towns, wine and wonderful local flavor. What impressed me most was that nothing felt cookie-cutter. Simone knew when to offer a suggestion, when to change course and when to simply let Tuscany do the talking. I never felt rushed, herded or like another tourist on an itinerary. As a solo traveler, having someone dependable matters. Having someone who can also make the ordinary extraordinary is something else entirely. Simone did exactly that. When he dropped me at my hotel in Florence on September 26, I wasn’t simply saying goodbye to my driver. I was saying goodbye to the person who had helped shape four unforgettable days in Tuscany. Grazie mille, Simone and TuscanVibes. I would travel with you again without hesitation.
