Negative Experience
Booked the 2:00pm Walking Food Tour. Was contacted and told the tour company double-booked…so we would be thrown into the Market Wine Tour. Met up at 2:00 for Tour start. At 2:45 we had experienced no wine, minimal interesting info and had partaken in a clam chowder mini-cup sample and a cheese stick. We left. Respectfully, would not recommend. Josh

Exceptional Experience Touring Pike Place Market with Guide John
My husband and I could not be more delighted with John as our guide introducing us to the Pike Place Market! John has a rich personal connection to Seattle and the Market, as well as deep familiarity with the history of this special area. The origin story of the Pike Place market is an inspiring example of how capitalism and public interest/service can merge to produce something beautiful, vibrant and sustaining. The tasty treats were awesome and served to expose us to vendors we wish to make return visits during our stay in Seattle.
Response from the operator: What a wonderful review — thank you! You captured exactly what we love about Pike Place Market: it’s not simply a collection of shops and food stalls, but an incredible Seattle story filled with history, community, characters and a little bit of beautiful chaos. We’re thrilled John brought that story to life for you — and that the tasty treats introduced you to a few places worth coming back for. That’s exactly what we hope happens! Thank you both for exploring the Market with us, and enjoy the rest of your Seattle adventure!

Busy, fun stroll
Liked the knowledgeable guide. She was a personable young lady with a strong voice, so you hear her in a crowded space. Was hoping for more samples but that tour was not available for our group of 6. Nice tour and right in time to start and finish. We were given a text as to who we were looking for, but it didn’t come through til after we started.
Response from the operator: Thank you for joining us and for the thoughtful feedback! We’re so glad you enjoyed your guide and appreciated her knowledge and energy. We’re sorry the pre-tour text reached you late — that’s something we can absolutely do better. We also understand wishing there had been more samples. We offer several different Market experiences, including more food-focused options, and we’re sorry the one you were hoping for wasn’t available for your group that day. Thank you again for spending part of your Seattle visit with us. We appreciate the feedback and hope we get another chance to show you even more of the Market!

Fantastic tour!!
Our tour of Pike Place Market was one of the highlights of our time in Seattle, and Void was absolutely phenomenal! From the very beginning, it was clear that Void wasn’t just a tour guide—they were a true storyteller who brought the market and its history to life. Void was incredibly knowledgeable, engaging, funny, and personable. They shared fascinating stories and little-known details that we never would have discovered on our own, while making the entire experience feel relaxed, fun, and personal. Their enthusiasm for Seattle and Pike Place was contagious! What really stood out was how passionate Void was about the people, history, and culture that make Pike Place so special. We left with a much deeper appreciation for the market—and plenty of great stories to take with us. If you’re visiting Seattle, do yourself a favor and book this tour—and if you’re lucky enough to have Void as your guide, you’re in for a real treat! We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Response from the operator: WOW — thank you! This absolutely made our day! Void is something special, and you nailed exactly what makes them such an incredible guide. We believe the best tours aren’t really about dates and facts — they’re about great stories, fascinating people, hidden details, and making you feel connected to a place. Void has an amazing gift for doing exactly that. Pike Place Market is wonderfully weird, colorful, historic and full of characters — which makes Void a pretty perfect person to introduce you to it! Thank you for spending part of your Seattle adventure with us, and especially for taking the time to recognize Void. We’ll make sure they see this one!

Response from the operator: Thank you for the 5 stars! We love hearing that you learned a lot, had a great time, and felt the experience was worth the money. That’s exactly what we’re going for — great stories, great people, and a fun way to discover Seattle. Thanks for exploring with us, and we hope you’ll come back and do something amazing with us again!

Pike Place Market Food & Story Tour with Seattle Characters: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Seattle.
How much does Pike Place Market Food & Story Tour with Seattle Characters cost?
+
Prices start at $49 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Seattle usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Pike Place Market Food & Story Tour with Seattle Characters take?
+
Plan for about 1.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Seattle is not rushed.
Is Pike Place Market Food & Story Tour with Seattle Characters worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 70 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 53 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Seattle, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Pike Place Market Food & Story Tour with Seattle Characters?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Pike Place Market Food & Story Tour with Seattle Characters suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Pike Place Market Food & Story Tour with Seattle Characters?
+
Around 19 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Seattle can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Seattle and add a light layer if any part of the 1.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Pike Place Market Food & Story Tour with Seattle Characters start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Seattle within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Seattle?
+
Seattle's best days leave the city: Mount Rainier, the San Juans, Olympic National Park and Snoqualmie Falls are all day-trip range, and each one lives or dies on the driver-guide. In town, Pike Place food tours, underground history walks and harbour cruises dominate. Our ranking favours operators with small vans over full coaches on the mountain runs. On Outty we rank every Seattle experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Mt. Rainier Day Tour from Seattle, Seattle City and Snoqualmie Falls Half-Day Guided Tour, Chef Guided Food Tour of Pike Place Market. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Seattle?
+
June to September for clear Rainier views and reliable ferry weather. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Seattle?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
What happens to Pike Place Market Food & Story Tour with Seattle Characters if the weather is bad?
+
It generally runs rain or shine, so dress for the forecast in Seattle. Standard cancellation terms apply: free cancellation up to 24 hours before the start.
What do travelers say about Pike Place Market Food & Story Tour with Seattle Characters?
+
Across 53 reviews averaging 4.7 out of 5, recurring themes include knowledge and storytelling, the guide, food and drink. Reviewers describe the commentary as informative rather than scripted.
