Kind of a scam. Do not book.

The weather was bad yet the trip was not cancelled. We were supposed to go to 3 islands. The first ride was supposedly 40 min. It took 1.5 hr with severe bumps, everyone was totally soaked. Children were screaming. Everyone was shivering ( I caught a cold afterwards, which ruined my holiday). The crew acted as if that were normal.. The national park we were supposed to visit was closed due to the weather. So we paid to go to 3 islands and ended up in 1 with bad weather and terrible inedible food. Most people decided to take the first boat back at their expense, because the crew refused to interfere, claiming ‘you should talk to your agent where you booked the tour to get your money back’. My DECENT agent Viator refused to do anything about this.

    Boat tour

Maya Bay is the first stop and was a beautiful place, a lot of tourists as expected but we had enough time there to look around and enjoy the surroundings. Next we went to Pileh Lagoon, which was very pretty. We then moved on to Viking Cave area to do some snorkelling, we had nearly an hour there to enjoy the many fish you could see (highly recommend taking a go pro to film). Then we finished off at Khai Nai island where dinner was given to us before we headed back to Phuket. All the tour operators were friendly and professional. Recommend this tour.

    Incredible

Amazing experience and the staff went above and beyond for us! My partner lost her phone on the tour bus, a quick call from reception and it was returned to us the next day! Really amazing, thank you so much

    Nice tour, could be better

Overall this is a decent tour. The staff was very nice, helpful and friendly. It was very affordable as well. However, there were a few things that weren't that great. The tour uses a speedboat, which is fine, but it was a bit overcrowded for my taste. Several people had to sit on the back part of the boat and we were shoulder to shoulder. It wasn't rushed, but the timing was off from the schedule. I would recommend clarifying beforehand how much time will be spent in each place, so that you'll know. We were told we were not able to enter the lagoon area in Phi Phi due to low tide. There were longboats available for hire, but it was not included and required cash. Several of us had only brought a few hundred baht (for refreshments and tips) which wasn't enough, so we weren't able to go. There were also no towels provided. Lastly, a word of caution, the last stop to watch the sunset is literally Cat island...it's not just a name. There are cats EVERYWHERE. I personally didn't care for that, but it didn't bother others. They do provide, water, juice and fruit after the first stop and at the last stop there is dinner. The dinner was nice, there was sushi style salmon, chicken breasts and salad and a whole platter of fruit. They also offer you a glass of red wine. I think if you know these things ahead of time, you will have a great time, just a few things were disappointing to me.

Phuket Phi Phi Maya Bay and Bamboo Tour by Catamaran: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Phuket.

How much does Phuket Phi Phi Maya Bay and Bamboo Tour by Catamaran cost?

    +

Prices start at $2500 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Phuket usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Phuket Phi Phi Maya Bay and Bamboo Tour by Catamaran take?

    +

Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Phuket is not rushed.

Is Phuket Phi Phi Maya Bay and Bamboo Tour by Catamaran worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 49 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.8/5 across 10 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Phuket, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Phuket Phi Phi Maya Bay and Bamboo Tour by Catamaran?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Phuket Phi Phi Maya Bay and Bamboo Tour by Catamaran suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Phuket Phi Phi Maya Bay and Bamboo Tour by Catamaran?

    +

Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Phuket can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Phuket and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Phuket Phi Phi Maya Bay and Bamboo Tour by Catamaran start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Phuket within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Phuket?

    +

On Outty we rank every Phuket experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Southern Flavors Phuket Food Tour with 15+ Tastings, James Bond Island by Big Boat w/ Sea Cave Canoeing and Lunch, Phang Nga Bay Canoeing & James Bond Island Tour from Phuket. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Phuket?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Phuket?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
