About this experience
If you looking for a tropical rainforest experience. Join us for trekking in the Khao Phra Taew National Park, right in the heart of Phuket. Half-day hiking or full-day hiking, both options are available for a unique trekking adventure. The Khao Phra Taew National Park harbors a stunning tropical rainforest with varied wildlife and 2 lovely waterfalls. The park is largely ignored by tourism, the hiking trails are often almost overgrown by dense jungle, but our professional guides will lead you smoothly through Phuket’s largest rainforest sanctuary, far beyond the public access area of the park. While hiking in this evergreen forest in the heart of Phuket, you might spot a rare Gibbon ape, as this dense jungle is the last natural sanctuary for Gibbons on Thailand’s biggest island. Enjoy the convenience of round-trip hotel transfers for easy travel throughout the tour. This small-group tour is capped at 12 travelers

Great hike but a long day.
The hike was great. Our guide "soda" pointed out plenty of different trees and insects and was full of knowledge. If youre wondering about the length of time then it is forever. We started the hike at 940 and didnt get back to the vehicle to head to lunch until 2. It wasn't that it was that long, there are just a ton of "rest stops" in between. But we had a great experience and lunch was good too.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your thoughtful and honest review. We’re delighted to hear that you had a great hike and that Soda shared so much knowledge about the trees and insects along the way. We’ll be sure to pass your kind words on, it will mean a lot We also appreciate your feedback about the duration and rest stops. The pace is designed to allow everyone to enjoy the surroundings comfortably, but we understand that it can feel longer than expected. Thank you again for sharing your experience, and we hope to welcome you on another adventure soon. Best Regards, Oh-Hoo Team

Excellent experience for fit hikers!
Fantastic activity for hiking lovers and people who love creepy crawlers! It’s about 4 hours of trekking with lunch after. Water and fruit is provided! Our tour guide was mina and she was excellent! Taught us all about the fauna and wildlife in the park and even showed us some of the native spiders! All round great trip if you’re alright with steep inclines and declines.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your fantastic review. We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed the trekking experience and appreciated the chance to explore the park’s fascinating fauna and wildlife. It’s wonderful to know that Mina made such a positive impact, we’ll be sure to share your kind words with her. She’ll be thrilled. Thank you again for your lovely feedback. We hope to welcome you on another adventure soon. Best Regards, Oh-Hoo Team

Very good hike and beautiful foliage
We reviewed the park information in line with our intentions to go without a guide. However it was advised to hire a guide as the trails are not always marked well or have been rerouted due to foliage or down bamboo. We elected to follow the advise and extremely happy we did. Very nice hike that is not for anyone that is not in good shape. Trail is rough and muddy. Recommend good shoes, bug spray and lots of water. Beautiful water falls and swimming holes
Response from the operator: Thank you for your detailed review. We’re glad to hear that you enjoyed the beautiful waterfalls and swimming spot. Your tips are very helpful for future visitors. We truly appreciate your recommendation and hope to have the opportunity to welcome you on another tour in the future. Best regards, Tawan Oh-hoo Team

Fantastic Jungle Trekking Experience – Highly Recommended!
The entire trip was brilliant from start to finish! Pick-up from our hotel was right on time, and we were warmly welcomed with bananas, water, and a clear briefing on what to expect during the trek. Our guide, Lee, was absolutely superb, knowledgeable, friendly, and incredibly sharp-eyed. Along with another guide, he pointed out tiny insects, snakes, and even some edible jungle fruits that we would have completely missed on our own. Their deep knowledge of the jungle made the experience feel authentic and immersive. We had the chance to stop at a couple of swimming spots along the way, one of them even had a fairly big waterfall, which was a beautiful highlight and a great place to cool off. The route overall was well managed and clearly planned, though there were a few more challenging sections that added to the adventure. Comfortable walking shoes/Trainers are a must! To top it all off, the day ended with a visit to a local restaurant where we could choose a menu item and enjoy a soft drink before being comfortably returned to our hotel. A great day all around, would definitely recommend this tour to anyone looking to experience the natural beauty of Phuket beyond the beaches!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review. We’re thrilled to hear that your Phuket Jungle Trekking experience at Khao Phra Taew National Park was enjoyable from start to finish. Thank you for highlighting the importance of proper footwear, your tip will surely help future travelers. We truly appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you again for more adventures beyond the beaches of Phuket. Best Regards, Tawan Oh-Hoo Team

Recommend for unique experience- teenagers loved it!
Wonderful experience in beautiful nature. Noises and sights of the rain forest were a great experience. We saw spiders, lizards, giant millipede and butterflies. Our guide was humorous and informative! The lunch was delicious ! Please do your research though - as one of our party realised early on that the trek involved agility as well as stamina in the very hot, steep and slippery conditions- and had to return.
Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your detailed review. We’re thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the beautiful rainforest, and the delicious lunch. We also appreciate your important note about the trek’s physical demands in hot and slippery conditions; this will be very helpful for future guests to plan accordingly. We hope to welcome you back for another adventure. Best Regards, Oh-Hoo Team

Why this scores 65
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Phuket Jungle Trekking Experience at Khao Phra Taew National Park: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Phuket.
How much does Phuket Jungle Trekking Experience at Khao Phra Taew National Park cost?
+
Prices start at $2250 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Phuket usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Phuket Jungle Trekking Experience at Khao Phra Taew National Park take?
+
Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Phuket is not rushed.
Is Phuket Jungle Trekking Experience at Khao Phra Taew National Park worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 65 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 16 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Phuket, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Phuket Jungle Trekking Experience at Khao Phra Taew National Park?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Phuket Jungle Trekking Experience at Khao Phra Taew National Park suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 10. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 6-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Phuket Jungle Trekking Experience at Khao Phra Taew National Park?
+
Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Phuket can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Phuket and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Phuket Jungle Trekking Experience at Khao Phra Taew National Park start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Phuket within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Phuket?
+
On Outty we rank every Phuket experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Southern Flavors Phuket Food Tour with 15+ Tastings, James Bond Island by Big Boat w/ Sea Cave Canoeing and Lunch, Phang Nga Bay Canoeing & James Bond Island Tour from Phuket. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Phuket?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Phuket?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
