Fantastic Value & Experience – Highly Recommended!
We recently took the Phuket Sunday Old Town Discovery City Tour operated by Odeon Tours Thailand, and it was exceptional value for money! We were looked after so well from start to finish and got to see so much of Phuket in a single day. Highlights & Pros: Great Itinerary & Surprises: The tour covers a wonderful mix of culture, history, and shopping. In addition to the main sights, we really enjoyed the interactive stop at the Gem Store & Factory, where we got a great guided tour explaining the process of gemstone crafting and local jewelry heritage. Another fun touch was the visit to the local cashew nut factory! Buffet Lunch: The included lunch was very nice, light, and refreshing during a busy day of sightseeing. Exceptional Value: You cover a huge amount of ground safely and comfortably without feeling overly rushed. Tips for Future Travelers: Gluten-Free / Dietary Requirements: While the lunch was enjoyable, the GF provision needs some improvement as the tour/restaurant staff seemed slightly unaware of celiac/gluten allergy needs. If traveling with strict dietary requirements, it’s worth bringing a few certified safe snacks just in case. Transportation Tip for the Night Market: If you are staying outside central Phuket (such as up in Mai Khao or the northern beaches), consider booking a private taxi or Grab home from the Sunday Night Market rather than taking the included tour bus back. The scheduled bus departure means your time at the market can be slightly limited; taking private transport gives you full flexibility to stay longer, explore nearby shopping streets, and head back at your own pace without a long, multi-stop drop-off route. Overall, a brilliant tour with a wonderful team. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Phuket!
Response from the operator: Dear Guest, Thank you very much for taking the time to share such a detailed and wonderful review of our Phuket Sunday Old Town Discovery City Tour! We are truly glad to hear that you had such a great experience and felt well looked after by our team from start to finish. We are especially happy that you enjoyed the variety of the itinerary, including the cultural and historical highlights, as well as the Gem Store & Factory and the local cashew nut factory. We are glad these interactive experiences added something special and interesting to your day. It is also wonderful to know that you enjoyed the buffet lunch and found the tour to be good value, comfortable, and well-paced. Thank you as well for your helpful feedback regarding the gluten-free meal arrangements. We sincerely apologize if our team and restaurant staff were not sufficiently aware of the requirements. We will share your comments with the relevant teams so we can improve our communication and handling of special dietary needs for future guests. We also appreciate your thoughtful advice regarding transportation from the Sunday Night Market. We understand that guests may prefer more flexibility to enjoy the market and surrounding streets at their own pace, and your feedback is very valuable to us. It was a pleasure having you join us, and we are so pleased that you would highly recommend our tour to other travelers visiting Phuket. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back and create another memorable experience in Thailand! Natthicha.

Caught the wrong bus perhaps?
We made up the numbers on what was a Polish Tour. The commentary was in Polish with almost zero English spoken. There was a Thai guide but her English was only a little better than my Thai. We did the usual factory tours with a range from Cashew Nuts, Snake cosmetics and Precious stones accompanied by the usual hard sales and tourist prices. The highlight was the view from Promthep Cape which, besides the view, had some memorial for something and which I am sure the Polish were told what it was, and the walk around the Wat Chalong Temple complex.. We didn’t feel part of the group and felt like ducklings following along behind.
Response from the operator: Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We would like to clarify that this tour operates with two programs: one for Polish-speaking guests and one for the worldwide market. Unfortunately, six travelers from the worldwide group (four Romanian and two Austrian guests) canceled their trip the night before due to changes in their plans. As a result, you were the only remaining guests from that program. Aware of this situation, we specifically instructed our Thai guide to take special care of you, and we also assigned a Polish guide who speaks fluent English to provide additional support. However, based on your review, it is clear that these efforts were not sufficient to deliver the experience you had expected. Although the itinerary was provided and followed as planned, we sincerely regret that the overall experience did not meet your expectations. We truly apologize for this unfortunate situation. Going forward, in similar cases, we will either inform our guests in advance or offer the option to cancel, to avoid disappointment. Thank you again for your honest review. Your feedback is valuable to us, and we assure you that we will improve our procedures regarding this specific issue. We wish you a pleasant day and all the best. Kind Regards, Natthicha

Why this scores 62
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Phuket Discovery with Lunch: Big Buddha, Old Town & Sunday Market: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Phuket.
How much does Phuket Discovery with Lunch: Big Buddha, Old Town & Sunday Market cost?
+
Prices start at $750 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Phuket usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Phuket Discovery with Lunch: Big Buddha, Old Town & Sunday Market take?
+
Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Phuket is not rushed.
Is Phuket Discovery with Lunch: Big Buddha, Old Town & Sunday Market worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 62 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Phuket, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Phuket Discovery with Lunch: Big Buddha, Old Town & Sunday Market?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Phuket Discovery with Lunch: Big Buddha, Old Town & Sunday Market suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Phuket Discovery with Lunch: Big Buddha, Old Town & Sunday Market?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Phuket can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Phuket and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Phuket Discovery with Lunch: Big Buddha, Old Town & Sunday Market start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Phuket within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Phuket?
+
On Outty we rank every Phuket experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Southern Flavors Phuket Food Tour with 15+ Tastings, James Bond Island by Big Boat w/ Sea Cave Canoeing and Lunch, Phang Nga Bay Canoeing & James Bond Island Tour from Phuket. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Phuket?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Phuket?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
