Our guide was amazing I could not fault him. The hotel was lovely and the meals were good and reasonably priced, but it was too far away from Cairo centre. When people are visiting a place that they probably will never come back to it is important to be able to well positioned even more so than the quality of the hotel itself.

The carvings!
Astonishing how much the Egyptians left for us to marvel. Located on a temple, had to have boat for crossing. Excellent site.

Philea Temple
Great location of the temple complex. The relocated complex can be reached by small boat and is located on an island between the new and old Aswan Dam.

A trip to remember.
Had an amazing time celebrating my 40th birthday in Egypt. We were a group of 5 women. Our tour guide Mohameed kk was great. Very patient and was so flexible to accommodate some of our needs outside of the tour. Which meant a lot to the group. My favorite day was the detour to the Nubian village and ending the day with taking a dip in the Nile. Definitely a trip to remember.

Amazing Tour Guide!
I had the privilege of traveling to Egypt in October using Egypt Promotion Tours. The country is beautiful and I enjoyed my time touring and relaxing. A highlight of my trip was the three night Nile cruise on Esmeralda from Aswan to Luxor. I traveled alone, but was in very good hands with my guide, Walid. He is extremely knowledgeable about the history and stories of the many attractions we visited. But more than that, he is like a very good friend who made sure that I was comfortable and happy with my trip. I really appreciate his kindness and big heart. This was especially good since this is my first time in Egypt and I traveled all by myself. Walid showed me all around Aswan and Luxor and introduced me to several kind people in a beautiful Nubian village. He is a very well spoken English guide and I will make sure to use him again when visiting Egypt. I highly recommend Walid to guide you on your trip. He is amazing!! Please visit Egypt on your next vacation and use Egypt Promotion Tours. Ask for Walid!!

Why this scores 49
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Philae temple & High Dam: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Aswan.
How much does Philae temple & High Dam cost?
+
Prices start at $30 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Aswan usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Philae temple & High Dam take?
+
Plan for about 0.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Aswan is not rushed.
Is Philae temple & High Dam worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 49 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.2/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Aswan, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Philae temple & High Dam?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Philae temple & High Dam suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 1. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 0.5-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Philae temple & High Dam?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Aswan can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Aswan and add a light layer if any part of the 0.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Philae temple & High Dam start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Aswan within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Aswan?
+
On Outty we rank every Aswan experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include 4-Day 3-Night Nile Cruise from Aswan to Luxor&Abu Simbel+Balloon, 4-Day 3-Night Nile Cruise from Aswan to Luxor - Private Tour, 3 or 2 or 1 Nights Mighty Nile Felucca Adventure. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Aswan?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Aswan?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
