What you get

    About this experience

First up is the ancient Greek and Roman city of Phaselis. It's scattered around a woodland and three little bays on the Lycian coastline and boasts impressive relics from classical times. Hadrian's Gate, the theatre and the aqueduct are among the standouts of the guided tour. Plus, you'll get to stroll among the ruins of former shops and the main street. There's also free time to visit the beaches, so bring your bathing gear. And all this is framed by the Bey Mountains National Park in the distance – your next destination. You'll ride through the clouds to the summit of Mount Olympos, also known as Tahtali, on one of the longest cable car rides in the world – its more than 4km long. At the summit, which is 2,365m above sea level, you'll have plenty of time to soak up 360-degree panoramas from the viewing platforms, just as the ancient gods and goddesses did. To round of the experience, you'll get to sit down to lunch with a side order of spectacular scenery.

Phaselis & Tahtali Mountain LONG Day Tour

Don't book this trip unless you are prepared to spend hours on a coach picking up at other hotels! We were based in Side and were picked up at 7.15am, we then travelled to the centre of Antalya where we waited for a transfer coach. We then spent another 2 hours picking up other guests. Once everyone was on board it was clear that the majority of the guests were not English and their guide spent the rest of the journey to Phaselis talking very loudly on the microphone and our poor guide couldn't get a word in edgeways. Once at Phaselis, which is lovely, our guide was finally able to find his voice and explained in great detail all about the site. We then travelled to the cable car on our ride up to the top and lunch. If you are claustrophobic this is not for you as they cram as many people in as possible. Lunch was pre-ordered for us and was passable. The journey down in the cable car was again pretty crammed. Luckily, after complaining to our guide, he was able to arrange a transfer straight back to Side without us having to make all the hotel stops. We were very grateful to him. He did say that he didn't understand why TUI sold this experience to guests in the Side area as it really is too far to travel and we totally agreed. Note to TUI, if you are going to continue to sell this excursion, I suggest that you arrange for coaches to transfer people straight to Phaselis & Tahtali Mountain.

Response from the operator: Dear Valued Guest, Thank you for your feedback and the time you dedicated to write it. First of all, we are glad you enjoyed Phaselis and the guide explanation. However, we are sorry to hear the tour did not meet in total your expectations and needs. Your comments really matter to us and help us to improve our services by applying the corrective actions, in this case regarding the transfers and the stops. Your comments are always being taken into consideration in order to make sure we are offering you the best possible service. Kind regards, Customer Service team

    +

Around 0 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Antalya and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

What are the best things to do in Antalya?

The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Antalya?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Antalya?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
