    What you'll see and do

    1. Hongs of Phang Nga

Canoe first island and explore 1-2 caves and hongs A "hong" – the Thai word for “room” – is actually a collapsed cave systems in the interior of each island in Phang Nga Bay, only accessed by tough, purpose-designed inflatable canoes through sea caves at low tide. Open to the sky and filled with jungle flora and fauna, the hongs conceal a unique eco-system with monkeys, birds, fish and complete quiet, except for the twittering of birds. Local operators have so far gained access to dozens of hongs between Phang Nga and Krabi to the south, which you can visit and enjoy on a Phuket kayaking trip. Each hong tends to have its own distinct character, and it's easy to spend days, even a week, visiting island after island.

      - Make your own Krathong & have dinner on the boat - Float the self-made Krathong in the cave of Phanak Island - See phosphorescent plankton - Kayak in Panak Cave Loy Krathong Day is one of the most popular festivals of Thailand celebrated annually on the Full-Moon Day of the Twelfth Lunar Month. It takes place at a time when the weather is fine as the rainy season is over and there is a high water level all over the country. The word “Loy” means “to float”, and “Krathong” means lotus-shaped vessel made of banana leaves. Loy Krathong is, therefore the floating of an illuminated leaf bowl. But nowadays some krathongs are made of coloured paper. A krathong usually contains a candle, three joss sticks, some flowers and coins.

    Starlight Tour

This trip was brilliant!! We did a similar one with a different operator on a speedboat and it was terrible. There was plenty of room on the boat, NOT squashed in with too many other people. Food was great , local staff were brilliant and the caves were stunning. Great starlight tour

Staff where great, food amazing, kayak guides fun and so talented with their rowing. Fun making the flowers with tiny birds and host Mr Yau (U) great. Boat was lovely, comfortable and smooth crossing. Not over crowded 👌❤️😁. 5 🌟 ⭐⭐⭐⭐

    This tour was awesome! It...

This tour was awesome! It was a great mix of leisure and activity, where we had some time to relax on the big boat and then got out on the kayaks to explore and swim in some areas. You have a guide on the back of your kayak that will paddle you through the caves. Our favorite part was our guide Bookie!! He was so funny and made the trip so memorable for us. Highly recommend this tour!

    Book through a local guide💯

I love this trip. I have done it a few times now & also taken my children when they were younger. John Gray Hong By Starlight is a fantastic experience & highly recommend however this is the first & last time I will book through this site. Luckily for us, our local guide checked our booking before organising our transport to the pier & they had no knowledge of it although we had already paid. The site noted a 500 Thb per person each way for transfer from Khao Lak but once booked, the confirmation email stated 1500 Thb pp each way. Luckily we had a very reliable & helpful guide who took care of it all for us & half the price.

Fanatic day trip with stunning scenery

Absolutely fantastic day trip. Stunning scenery and saw wild monkeys. The lagoons, mangroves, and caves were beautiful. Our guide Adam was so knowledgeable and funny - “The man with the golden paddle” in Hong Island. Brilliant!

Phang Nga Bay Starlight by John Gray Sea Canoe: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Phuket.

How much does Phang Nga Bay Starlight by John Gray Sea Canoe cost?

    +

Prices start at $2000 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Phuket usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Phang Nga Bay Starlight by John Gray Sea Canoe take?

    +

Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Phuket is not rushed.

Is Phang Nga Bay Starlight by John Gray Sea Canoe worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 66 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 20 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Phuket, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Phang Nga Bay Starlight by John Gray Sea Canoe?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Phang Nga Bay Starlight by John Gray Sea Canoe suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Phang Nga Bay Starlight by John Gray Sea Canoe?

    +

Around 7 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Phuket can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Phuket and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Phang Nga Bay Starlight by John Gray Sea Canoe start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Phuket within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Phuket?

    +

On Outty we rank every Phuket experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Southern Flavors Phuket Food Tour with 15+ Tastings, James Bond Island by Big Boat w/ Sea Cave Canoeing and Lunch, Phang Nga Bay Canoeing & James Bond Island Tour from Phuket. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Phuket?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Phuket?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
