    BBQ tasting class

I had such a wonderful experience with this tasting class in Peru! It was a fun and a good way to learn more about Peruvian cuisine and culture. The instructor was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience enjoyable and easy to follow. The food we prepared was delicious, and I loved learning about the local ingredients, traditional techniques, and the stories behind the dishes. It was a great experience from start to finish, and definitely one of the highlights of my time in Peru. I'm from Texas and I enjoyed learning about different techniques Peruvians use to BBQ. I would happily recommend this class to anyone who loves food, cooking, or wants a more authentic cultural experience!

Response from the operator: Coming from Texas, you definitely know your BBQ, so we are absolutely honored that you loved learning our Peruvian fire-cooking techniques! We are so glad our friendly instructor made this cultural experience a highlight of your time in Cusco. Cheers! Maira from Cook in Fiesta

    Tried different peruvian meats

The food was nice, he had different meat and vegetables. The guide was very kind and explained the dishes. There was a lot of waiting in between, luckily there was a great view. Maybe next time we could participate more.

Response from the operator: We are so glad you enjoyed the delicious food, the great views, and our kind guide! As this is an authentic barbecue experience over an open fire, the cooking process does take some time, but we completely understand your desire to be more hands-on. We always encourage participants to step in! But we will make sure this is more clear with the chef and participants for next time! We appreciate your feedback and will look for ways to increase guest participation while the meats are grilling. Cheers! Maira from Cook in Fiesta

Good barbecue with an amazing view

Overall a very nice experience. Lovely place with a very beautiful view over the city. It was nice having the cook explain everything about the food. Everything did take quite long though, overall it took about 2,5 hours, so it is good to keep in mind that you will have to wait until everything cooks as it will not be prepared beforehand. The food was tasty, I enjoyed the grilled vegetables as well as the meat, and the chimichurri dressing was great!

Response from the operator: Enjoying that beautiful view over the city while the barbecue sizzles is part of the magic! Since we prepare everything fresh over the open fire rather than beforehand, it does take a little time, but we are thrilled you felt the tasty meats and chimichurri dressing were absolutely worth the wait. Good views, vibes and food.

Very knowledgeable chef! Nice food, and vibes! BBQ was great with lots of traditional food. If want to try the Peruvian beef heart, but are hesitant to try from the street vendors Def try it here. Very fresh and good quality food. Super nice views of the city too, can see the whole city (and without having to slog up all of the hills)

Response from the operator: Giving guests a safe, high-quality environment to try traditional delicacies like Peruvian beef heart is exactly what we love to do! We are so glad you enjoyed the fresh food, the knowledgeable chef, and those spectacular city views without the uphill hike. Cheers! Maira from Cook in Fiesta

    Bbq food tour

A fun experience in Cusco. Victor was very knowledgeable explaining all of the ingredients and the food was delicious. Also a good way to try new foods. Was a nice experience with friends to sit on the lovely terrace with drinks looking over the city while the bbq was cooking.

Response from the operator: Sitting on a lovely terrace with drinks while the BBQ cooks is the perfect way to spend an afternoon! We are so happy Victor shared his knowledge of the ingredients and provided a delicious, fun experience for you and your friends. Cheers! Maira from Cook in Fiesta

Peruvian Barbecue Class over fire in Cusco with a local: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cusco.

How much does Peruvian Barbecue Class over fire in Cusco with a local cost?

    +

Prices start at $85 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cusco usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Peruvian Barbecue Class over fire in Cusco with a local take?

    +

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cusco is not rushed.

Is Peruvian Barbecue Class over fire in Cusco with a local worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 59 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 12 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cusco, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Peruvian Barbecue Class over fire in Cusco with a local?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Peruvian Barbecue Class over fire in Cusco with a local suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Peruvian Barbecue Class over fire in Cusco with a local?

    +

Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cusco can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cusco and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Peruvian Barbecue Class over fire in Cusco with a local start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cusco within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Cusco?

    +

On Outty we rank every Cusco experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Sacred Valley Full Day Tour, Full-Day Humantay Lake Trek (Meals Included), Cusco: Rainbow Mountain & Red Valley Premium Day Trip with Meals. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Cusco?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Cusco?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
