Next we travel down a bumpy dusty dirt road until we arrive at a little farm gate driveway with a rustic tasting shed. Completely sustainable and off the grid, you'll be amazed at what this little farm can achieve. Each morning the goats are milked and each afternoon their milk is handcrafted into farmhouse cheese. Taste and sample the feta and camembert, learn about the farms sustainable practices. Have you ever tried goats milk gelato? Hidden along the back roads of the Chittering Valley, we’ll find The Hive Café situated amongst the pine trees and farm animals. There’s nothing really ‘little’ about Little Eeden Honey Farm except for the honey bees. The lunch portions are generous, the peacocks love to show off, rustic metal art decorates the gardens, and if you’re lucky, the emu will come out to say hello. This place has a big personality with genuine local charm. Sample the bush honey or try their famous Bee Tea honey. New Norcia
If you thought this tour couldn’t get any more 'off the beaten track,' you’ll be surprised when we arrive at a Spanish Benedictine monastery buried within the heart of the Australian outback. Founded in 1847 by Benedictine monks, New Norcia developed into a self sufficient, progressive agricultural mission. Being the only living and working monastic town left in the nation, it still produces many of its original products using traditional recipes. Sample freshly baked bread from the 1902 wood fired oven with New Norcia’s award winning olive oil. Try the handcrafted traditional monastic Abbey Ale, the lighter Pale Ale, vintage muscat, and St Benedict’s Port. Roam the architectural heritage protected streets and walk in the footsteps of the pioneers who built this historic community. Visit the 1850s Mission Cottage, home to the Indigenous Yued people. Step inside the Benedictine Abbey, visit the town cemetery and the Rock of Remembrance, which acknowledges New Norcia’s complex past.

Amazing experience
I booked this tour mainly to go and try the fresh country food and produce . I was definitely impressed. I purchased all 5 cheeses from the Goat Farm that we tasted , 3 jars of honey and also brought olives, olive oil and bread from new Norcia . You won’t find this stuff at the supermarket, it’s so fresh. I was a little nervous around the birds at the beginning, but soon I was letting them perch on my shoulder and take a selfie. Even my 78 years old mother in law was holding parrots. I’m originally from Brazil so this was completely different scenery that I’m used to and an experience that I’II remember for weeks to come. Thank you ☺️

Gelato lovers day out in the Wheatbelt
This tour to the Wheatbelt was a jam packed day with so many interesting stops. Not only did our tour guide provide an outstanding service, so did all the staff and farmers we met along the way. I think being in a small group adds to the country charm. I recommend trying the homemade mango gelato at the goat farm and joining the walking tour around New Norcia, my camera roll is bursting with amazing photos.

WA Wheatbelt and New Norcia
My wife and I joined the Journey Through the Wheatbelt, and Uncover New Norcia's Past tour with Take You There Tours, and it exceeded all expectations. Our guide was Cara, we had one other couple on our trip so it almost felt like a private tour. Every attention to detail was thought of & there was free drinking water and suncream lotion for us travellers. The drive through the Wheatbelt was stunning, we loved visiting the local producers along the way—tasting cheese, honey, and gelato. You could tell the tour was thoughtfully designed to showcase the best of the region, not just the sights but the flavours too. My wife thought New Norcia was a real highlight as she loves exploring heritage buildings, we found the walking town tour both educational and inspiring. We both agreed it was one of the most memorable days of our perth trip and we highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting a mix of history, culture, and local flavour.
